From Damn Interesting:
A man named Randell Mills claims that his company, Blacklight Power, has produced a prototype power generator which only uses tiny amounts of water as fuel, gives off very little waste, yet produces a thousand times more heat than conventional fuel. The key, he says, is a form of hydrogen atom called a “hydrino,” comprised of only one electron and one proton. He claims that the hydrino’s electron orbits its nucleus slightly closer than normal, and that the formation of hydrinos from conventional hydrogen releases huge amounts of energy.
I know this was a 2005 article but I searched and couldn't find a thread on it. Pretty damn interesting.
How does this shatter Quantum Physics?
Sweet, but jesus this is late.
Loads of these kind of stuff that in the end leads to nothing.
Anyone who believes this crap never took a class past basic science.
E: I may have mistaken this for some other pseudoscience crap, but I'm still really sceptical
E2: Alright, NASA funded it. That still doesn't mean much, but it does help their point
Oh, just 5 years late
Well guess what, it's a month till those 5 years
Tens of millions of dollars have been invested in the research, including some from NASA’s institute of advanced concepts. Blacklight Power hopes to have a small unit for heating homes available within four years, followed some time later with a scaled-up version to be used in power plants to produce electricity for communities.
well now

that's why nasa gave them money right
On May 28, 2008, a press release by BLPI claimed successful testing of a prototype generating 50,000 watts of thermal power on demand.
Hydrino? Eh?

Right there.
oh snap edited your post lol.
How does this shatter Quantum Physics?
It does and doesn't shatter quantum physics.
It may or may not shatter quantum physics.
From what I just read and somewhat understand, Hydrino = Hydrogen? I'm confunkled
From what I just read and somewhat understand, Hydrino = Hydrogen? I'm confunkled
Hydrino is some kind of water. I don't know, haven't looked into this too much.
Hydrino is some kind of water. I don't know, haven't looked into this too much.
Wouldn't that be more than just one electron and one proton then?

A single atom is not a water molecule, a Hydrino is a Hydrogen atom.
Also Hydrino - Hydr ino - Hydrogen Ion perhaps? :iiam:

Nah it's just an Italian feminine suffix attached to Hydrogen
Mill's modified quantum mechanics aren't consistent. I'm dubious.
Would you clarify?

Mills seems to have something against math. He said something like, "Some day we may have a physical theory of the atom rather than a mathematical one." He seems completely against grounding any of his claims in theory and is simply making up the hydrino to explain odd phenomena even though its existence makes no sense.
Hydrogen normally only has 1 electron and 1 proton.

A hydrino is a regular hydrogen atom. :geno:
Hey guys Union won the civil war, pretty damn interesting but I didnt see a thread on it
Wow, a hydrogen atom with a single proton and electron?! NOOOOOO, REALLY?!
A hydrino is a regular hydrogen atom. :geno:
No, it's a hydrogen atom with a higher electronegativity than normal, as it's only electron is in an orbital closer to the nucleus than a normal hydrogen atom.
