Just came back to home country after 8 months of studying in Canada. One day i received a call, asking if i am NAME SURNAME. I confirmed. The voice on the phone told me that, they are calling from Mayoralty of Ujar, and i am heir of some old house. I am told to come down to Ujar to get the house fully on my name or the mayoralty will take it. They also told me that, they repaired outside of the house, because it was too old. Packed my bag next day and went to Ujar. It is a small city. Most of the people have dark skin(i guess because of the sunburn) and not friendly to strangers. After meeting with officials in the mayoralty they asked if i want to see the house. Obviously i went to see the house and also took some pictures. Took a small walk before bed around the city, streets was empty but not dark. They also have some kind of nice looking museum or something. V Now, what is your advises on the matter? If i chose to take the house, i dont have to pay for the repair or anything. I am thinking about taking and then selling it, but different opinions are welcome.
I dig the soviet stuff, but I think the "Packed my bag next day and went to Ujar. It is a small city. Most of the people have dark skin(i guess because of the sunburn) and not friendly to strangers. That's some entry-level horror movie shit.
stay a night in the house. Maybe you'll be visited by Stalin's ghost or something.

This is exactly Luigi's Mansion
Keep an eye out for skeletons, bro

Everyone in this photo died of mysterious circumstances, except the one on the left, whose body was never found
[thumb]http://varyox.com/uploads/home/39.jpg[/thumb]
How do you fuck up that bad?
Renovate. I'm renovating an old house myself.
This is exactly Luigi's Mansion
Роберт's Palace
I wouldn't be arsed renovating a big property in the middle of nowhere. Just sell it with the least possible effort. As for the other items, if the textiles and rugs are in a good condition, cleaning and selling them shouldn't take too much effort. The rest looks like broken crap though, like most old stuff usually is. Keep any signed books, extremely well-preserved old books, or books that contain an ex libris.
I dunno dude. It sounds a bit too fishy. The state the house is in by the looks of the pictures isn't of any value at all. Before you get your name on that make sure if it's actual worth anything while you still have the time. You might end up never getting it sold at all and costing you more than it brings you in.
Make sure it's not a scam.
As long as it isn't a scam, take the house, spend a few nights in it just for fun, and then sell it. Anything you make is pure profit. If you take a liking to the house, then why not fix it up a bit more? From the street it looks very nice, and if you cleaned up the junk it would look even better. I personally like it, and would love to inherit a house.

I just have to pay nearly 200-250E for the property taxes and sewer fees that built up by the time. In Azerbaijan property tax is something like 15-20E per year. I also did a little bit research and found out that i can sell that place for 50k-60k. It is just i am in no need of money right now.
Make sure it's not a scam.
I don't think it is a scam. I keep getting tracked by lawyers or government after turning 18 this year. I am the only one alive that i know of. Lost my family when i was 11. So i am the only heir of all the stuff my family used to own.

But I'd say get the money if you can and have it sold as soon as possible so that you won't have to deal with it for too long.
Whoa, it's not every day you inherit stuff like this. Also, I can't imagine how it feels to be the only only surviving member of a family, let alone losing everyone so young. I'd ask how it all happened, but I presume it'd be kinda rough recalling the events of 2007.

Dad started drinking more because of my grandmother and my elder sister's drug problem, mom divorced, sister killed herself, dad drank more, mom killed herself, dad tried to get the family together again. Me, my dad, and my sister moved out of old house(not that one). Sister's depression became serious and od'd next month, dad started drinking again. One day he went to work, i slept that night alone and next day cops knocked on the door. Drunk-driving. I don't know how my grandmother died, but i know that she was alone in her house.
The house looks creepy
People feel very bad for me when i tell them how i lost my family, but truth is i was completely over it by 17. There is a picture of me and my grandmother.
Assuming it wouldn't ruin your life or job or anything by moving I say you move into the house. Even if it is just for a few years it is a new experience and could turn out great.
Oh gods, that's terrible. I thought that it was something to do with a conflict in the region, but to be at the centre of a maelstrom of suicide and substance-abuse with family members dropping left and right until you were the only one left... Here's hoping for a softer path ahead of you, sir. You've had a rough road for sure.
Even if you don't want the house, you should definitely take some of those old family pictures and passports to keep for memories.
So how exactly are you heir to this house? Did you have a crazy communist uncle with no friends or close family that you knew nothing about? *Sorry, missed that part of the thread.
