Lava lakes are extremely rare, extremely beautiful and obviously extremely hot. One of the most spectacular is in the crater of Marum volcano on Vanuatu in the South Pacific. You'd either have to be extremely brave or extremely crazy to try abseiling down towards one...
Minecraft irl, but a bit more awesome :iia:
I totally want to do this.
but if I ever got the chance I would probably pussy out.
Holy fuck! that doesn't even look real!
That lake looks like the type of place that you could dump all your trash in and it would just vaporize it forever.
Is it fake, it looks fake...

I'm not sure why governments haven't tried this kind of thing yet. It's not like the burning junk would do much to the atmosphere that the volcanic activity isn't already. And besides, it'd break down plastics and reform them with rock, thus being the world's best recycling facility.
It's so beautiful.. yet so deadly
It looks Green screen'd but maybe thats heat distortion
You guys say the lava looks fake, thats what it looks like.

Lava is fucking difficult to film, it almost always looks fake.
Strangely, I felt more nervous watching the video of the guys doing pull-ups off a crane.
Wow looks cool. It's angry!
I once camped in a forest
It wasn't as hardcore

how the fuck do you propose they pull something out of a volcano
I wanted them to just throw a rock into that shit.
Explanation why it may look fake:
1 - Lava is generally melted stone, which means there's shitloads of temperature. This results in heat distortions making it difficult for a camera to focus on it.
2 - Lava is very dense, as you can see the drops are maybe as big as their heads. This makes lava look weird because we're used to lighter fluids like water. Because of this, the lava pit looks small at the same time as it looks huge.
3 - It moves a lot, looks like a constant explosion.
Fucking hell at 2:15, part of the side collapsing in
That looks really epic though
Holy shit, look at it churn...
Fuckin miracles
So is the churning really as big as it looks? Cause it looks like it bubbles to like 100 feet up
Extreme camping :v:
That would make for pretty kick ass pictures you show friends to.
