SINGAPORE: Eight men have been arrested for setting off an improvised explosive device made out of sparklers. Police said on Monday (Aug 4) that last Friday, officers responded to a report of a fire at Woodlands Drive 50.
They found burn marks on the ground and bundled sparklers that had been lit. The suspects, aged between 18 and 33 years old, were nearby.
Investigations against the men are ongoing, but they could face up to a year's jail or a maximum fine of S$5,000, if charged with negligent conduct around an explosive substance.
Police say since July, there have been 14 cases which saw a total of 62 people arrested for setting off improvised explosive devices constructed from sparklers.
Jeez this country. Then again, it depends on how big it was, but I doubt its anything big. Get me out of here already.
That's lame, sparkler bombs are pretty.

We used to make little fountains out of sparklers. You'd have two soft drink lids glued together and taped up tight full of crushed up sparkler stuff, and one sticking out of a hole in the top. Light the sparkler fuse and soon after it makes a fountain

Wow, your sparkler bombs are pathetically tiny. I used to make them with about $20 of sparklers in one bang.
When I was about 11 or 12 I decided to fill one of those little CO2 bottles with sparkler powder and it exploded. I'm actually surprised I got through my childhood unmaimed actually.
the easiest way to make a sparkler bomb is using electrical tape (which is best) and compacting a ton of sparklers together and just using another sparkler as a fuse.
Having made many sparkler bombs in the past, I can say that sparkler bombs can be considered a pretty crude bomb. It can have small shrapnel go shooting around (if you use the metal sparklers, which are best for this). Also not exactly sure if that should be posted on how to make a sparkler bomb, even though I do believe it is quite a common thing people know... If a mod doesn't want it, please PM me and I will edit, or delete my post please.
Depending on how large you make the sparkler bomb it can get pretty big and pretty dangerous. You can make them much bigger then most fireworks you can buy. Though they are mostly just a loud noise maker for the most part, they can still cause a decent amount of damage if not handled properly.

Just a couple minutes ago, some kids were doing it, right below my block.
