A jury has partially overturned the conviction of Amanda Knox. The jury as overturned the murder conviction but upheld the conviction on the defamation charges.
The judge has called for silence in the courtroom as applause erupts.
They're updating the blog every couple minutes with updates, keep an eye on it. I agree with them cutting her loose of the murder charge.
I misheard the verdict on the news, thought they said she was guilty. I nearly had a heart attack.
I haven't followed this enough to have an opinion on the verdict nor do I have the experience or knowledge to judge if she is guilty or not.
I'll just give the benefit of the doubt that justice was served.

She's innocent.
That's got to be such a good feeling. Imagine how shitty that would be getting sentenced to prison for a crime you didn't commit.

Look at this picture, utter chaos.

kinda an understatement. She would have gotten life otherwise IIRC
Who is this now?
Never heard of this case or trial before just now
I'm amazed as to how many morons think she's guilty. It's hilarious.
I feel happy for Knox, knowing that she's free.
I hoped that she'd go free and look what happened.
Good job, Perugian court. Justice has been served.
SHE IS GUILTY!!!!
.... of defamation.
At least the Italian court system can get shit right.
What is Defamation anyways? Why did she get charged with it?
At least the Italian court system can get shit right.
Except for the nearly-a-dozen trials about Berlusconi and his stuff.
well good for Knox and Sollecito that they are free now, i forever thinked that they're innocent, if perugian court make them guilty, they ruined two life (sorry for shitty grammar)

She could be, but the police buggered up the evidence collection so there is no real way of knowing for sure.
Defamation is basically blackening somebody's name with no evidence. Or something like that.
It'd be like me saying Garry is a gay homo who is plotting to kill the PM.
so pretty much lying.
THey said she won't have to do anything for Defamation though. 3 years for it but she already served it the 4 years she was in prison.
So she is completely free. All she needs to do is sign the papers and get out of the country.
It must suck to be her still. There are still stupid people who think she did it and its not like she can go back to America and be open about who she is. She'll get cheers and also jeers and we all know how far civilian vigilantes will go to serve their own justice onto people...
What is Defamation anyways? Why did she get charged with it?
She wrongly accused a bartender of killing Kercher.
What is Defamation anyways? Why did she get charged with it?
Uhh you don't know what defamation of character is? Read the link, it even mentions it. She framed the bar owner for the bar she used to work at. That's why people thought she was guilty.
She could be, but the police buggered up the evidence collection so there is no real way of knowing for sure.
No, they didn't.
She's quite attractive.

No, they didn't.
I'm pretty sure it was reported that they contaminated evidence.
I'm pretty sure it was reported that they contaminated evidence.
Her DNA wasn't found on anything. They didn't take bleach to the knife and bra.
The evil bitch.
Funny how quite a lot of the tabloids in the UK were seriously biased towards her being guilty. Having read those I thought she was too until I read some case studies online... Goes to show how the media could have swayed the case if this were in the UK, pretty worrying.

So glad that Knox has been cleared of the murder charges. Hope that everything else goes smoothly for her.

The british press spun it to pretty much demonise her because she murdered a British girl.
I imagine in the US press it was more spun as to her innocence as she was an American citizen in a foreign judicial system.
Had it been the other way around the British press would protest her innocence, while the American press would be harsh on her.
If she didn't murder him, then who did?
Finally those Italian fucktards got their head screwed back in.
Her initial bullshit conviction of murder was a case of "herp we dunt have evdince find first scapgot lol derp"
