• Making Your Mary Jane Plant Small?

I've heard of a method for stunting the growth of your homegrown weed, so that stays very small but still produces buds. I think you have to top them or something. Does anyone know anything about this? I really want to grow but it would be faaar easier if my plants were smaller and easier to conceal
you can get lowryder seeds, I don't really know how to do it otherwise.
Thanks but purchasing seeds isn't an option. A friend gave me some purple haze seeds. I think I'll train them to stunt and shallow their soil. Plus topping. All that combined should produce a small plant
You can do it by bending your plant on the side a little and block it with a stick if I remember right. But your best bet is to go there http://disc.420chan.org/crops/ and ask nicely.
Look up Low Stress Training, and throw some 'cool' CFL lights in the grow room, they promote bush-y growing.
Lol I've been thinking of simply growing one in my closet using my closet light. My closet has a large 'cool' blue florescent light. If the plant was small, all that would be needed is to throw it in a foil lined box with an open top and to leave my closet light on at night while I'm asleep. I'm worried that just that light alone wont be good enough. I may need to pick up some green nursery lights. Tips?
1 Cool fluorescent light won't do it. You need to keep about a 2:1 ratio of warm/cool light when it's not flowering, and reverse, so 1:2 warm/cool, when it is flowering. Also fluro's must be within 1-2 inches of the plant at all times... [editline]04:30PM[/editline] Oh, and tin foil (you said foil) is horrible, it makes light/dark spots due to the creases of it. If you have any Christmas wrapping paper that basically looks like tinfoil on the back, use that.
hmm alright. I'll be better off waiting for spring and grow outdoors unless you can suggest something cheap and easy
cfl's are cheap?
I need something easy as well. Parents don't like pot as far as I know. Plant needs to stay small for stealth. If I wire up a ton of lights , they're gonna notice
Buy a powerstrip, some socket adapters (dollar each) and a couple more CFL's. No wiring needed.
I'll need 2 "warm" CFLs and 2 "cool" right? whats the risk of fire? they don't burn too hot right?
No, I've had grow rooms up to 120 degrees (killed the plant, obviously.) Takes a 400ish degree to start a fire. And I'd say 3 warm, 1 cool. When it's budding (hopefully you'd have time to get some more cash) get 3 cool, 1 warm.
Meh I'm not gonna do it. I have nowhere to put it. Only my closet. And If the plant gets too big I'm fucked and also I have no way of keeping the lights on a power strip 2 inches to the plant while enclosed in a a box
All you have to do is trim it so it remains short, clipping leaves off wont kill it, I had a 3 foot plant in my backyard last summer, it produced some dank buds.
You'd be surprised. Just today i thought of an idea and i kinda put it together so it would be ready for when i want to start. it's kinda sketchy but idk we'll see.

I could grow pry up to 2.5 feet on the high side
man if only I could order lowryder or dwarf weed :(
3 foot is too tall. Need about 1 foot so yeah.
You obviously did not look into Low Stress Training, like I told you to in my first response... way too big nater. I don't want to "maximize yield" I want my plant to stay small
So even if you topped your plant while doing LST it would still grow to be a giant ass plant?
do you mean Sea of Green? lots of tiny plants about a foot tall.
Yeah lol
way too big nater. I don't want to "maximize yield" I want my plant to stay small
OK...You still obviously didn't look up low stress training... [editline]03:55PM[/editline] Let me explain it to you...Durr, bend/tie down plant...hurr, plant small.
Well i read that even with LST they can still get pretty tall but idk. I'm gonna try it for my first time.
Nater, I already researched LST before you mentioned here. It's an option of course but I was really looking for this mythical way of topping it or trimming it or something that made it small. LST won't inhibit growth itself, it will control how the plant grows however.
It will take up less space overall but no it won't be smaller
Any time the plant is getting tall, just bend the trunk/main stem 90 degrees around the height you want it to stay at. Surely that would work as it sounds just the same as LST.
