Not gonna lie, I was pretty uncertain about this game until this. Now I'm very, very interested to play it.
Ugh I hope it's not good because I refuse to play it at 30fps with those horrid black bars because they wanted to cut back to keep the graphics which don't even look very special because everything is brown.
Give us PC version too so them modders can fix the black bars and fps limit.
Ehh, I'm sceptical and I honestly believe that games which take control away from the player and are riddled with cutscenes are just nothing more but interactive movies, this 'game' just keeps being advertised as a movie all this entire time, it's really strange and all the trailers we get to see are cutscenes with tiny gameplay snippets.

Metal Gear Solid? The Last of Us?
I really hope we don't end up joining the rebellion because the player character has a change of heart and sees that things aren't black and white like he's been lead to believe. I just want to play as a guy who wants to wipe out the non-human scum infesting his city

If its a consistent 30 frames, I really don't care. I'm used to it.

Would not be surprised if this is exactly the way it'll go.
With the white-bearded guy as the last boss.

And we already know that 30 FPS are cinematic as Ubisoft lightly convinced us.
guarantee you it wont be, the pure gameplay footage thats out there constantly dips into the single digits during fights
That was like what, early last year?

Also if I remember correctly, the stream of the gameplay ran smooth as fuck but someone recorded it and that's where the choppiness came from.

Again, I give zero fucks because I'm entirely used to 30 frames per second because I have a mid-range PC, I've only felt 60 or more on way 2007 to 2009 era games.
I don't really care too much about the black bars/30fps but christ is that game dark. I know the whole grey/brown shooter joke has been made a ton but christ everything in that palette is just grey and tbh it's kind of hard to see anything.

That shouldn't be a substitute for developers laziness.
The movie looks pretty interesting though.
Looks cool. When will we see it in theatres?
Weapons actually look pretty fun. I wasn't giving this a chance before but I guess I'll look at what people have to say when it comes out.
Coming to a YouTube near you.
Can't say I'm hyped about, well, anything in this.

Am I the only one who doesn't mind games with lots of cutscenes and with story-driven gameplay? They are still games and recently some of those games have been pretty good like The Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls (mixed reviews but I liked it).
I play games for the story so if it's 80% story and 20% gameplay that's fine with me. I don't see the problem with 'interactive movies.'
Metal Gear Solid? The Last of Us?
Metal Gear Solid at least is still very, very gameplay focused despite having many cutscenes.
The gameplay looks cinematic and fun as fuck too.
The slick particles and enemy reactions give it a really nice look.
I just hope this isn't 6 hours long. If its some impressive looking but short and shallow third person shooter with nice cutscenes I'll probably give it a miss.

Are you trying to prove his point?
Besides, those are good movies... games... things. That makes the difference for me. I would play The Order if the plot was actually interesting, same as what Black Ops lacked in interesting gameplay it made up for with a reasonably interesting Cold War thriller. However, if the plot is just generic boring shit, then it won't help the gameplay at all.
Plot is the kind of thing that makes a game better when it is good, but unless it is really shitty it won't drag a game down so much, but if a game has nothing substantial beyond its plot, then it becomes reliant on the writing to be good. MGS and the Last of Us had fun gameplay, so even if you didn't like the plot both still made decent games. The Order's gameplay looks barely existent however.

The Last of Us honestly doesn't have that many cutscenes between gameplay. There's a lot of dialogue when walking around, but the cutscenes only take up like 2 hours in a 16 hour game.
can't wait to play it on youtube

My definition of the game is something balls hard challenging which actually is worth my time and rewards me for doing something well, it doesn't have to be an action game, I can't say when was the last time a game engaged me both mentally and emotionally where I felt smart for coming out with a solution to a problem, it's a time lost feeling which I ever since tried to recover while playing new games, it's simply not there, it's all too easy.
tbh if thats your definition of a game then barely any games have come out since 2003
I tried to say, games need to try and stay or simply be games, games by definition not trying to be something else entirely.
Game trailers just use cut scenes because its the easiest to market with. That doesn't mean the game is almost entirely cut scenes.

They might not choose to show it simply because cinematics advertise a lot better. I was trying to say that it might have quite an decent amount of gameplay, which we can't judge until it's released, I don't have any preference to this game but it's best to just take a neutral approach instead of just bashing it straight away.
Why isn't this coming to PC?
Here's a big reason why you shouldn't be hyped for it: game journalists breaking ranks and calling a game out for being bad before release (remember how Brink got really good previews and shit reviews?)

[sp]that or they got paid by microsoft idk[/sp]
But yeah apparently it is way too buggy at this stage and its more of a movie than a fucking David Cage game
