A filmmaker, who was involved in the early negotiations to free Alan Henning, has told Sky News how even al Qaeda thought holding him hostage was "not a good idea".
The terrorist group sent a member to bargain with the Islamic State fighters holding him but failed to secure his release.
The al Qaeda member, who was sent to bargain with the Manchester taxi driver's captors, said the jihadists were "difficult" and "tough".
Bilal Abdul Kareem told how Mr Henning, who was helping to make an aid delivery in Syria, was captured just an hour after arriving in al-Dana, around 30 minutes from the Turkish border, on Boxing Day.
He said Islamic State fighters had arrived in the town and detained all of those in the convoy but quickly released the Muslim members, holding only Mr Henning.
Honestly I don't believe any of it, nobody should.

basically what you have here.
Al quaeda says these guys are tough? Holy crap.. It's like being banned from the nazi party because of your extremist beliefs..
Honestly I don't believe any of it, nobody should.
I'd say they wanted him for other "evil" reasons.
Not so evil, but still evil.

Do you realize that Al Quaeda used to have basically official support of the US government? They weren't always "The enemy #1" and there's no reason why their angle couldn't change again.

"Pfff, they didn't like my idea of killing Hitler because he doesn't even looks like a true aryan himself... Bunch of posers..."
Al-Qaeda has manuals on how to torture someone with a blowtorch and flew two planes into two towers and they are negotiating with the something worse than anything last thought at all possible. McCrystal had these people one their knees for a while as well, its a shame we didnt choke them out.
Imagine if Al Qaeda now thought "Shit, this is how the americans see us" and now turned super good

There was a similar news story a while ago with other negotiations between Al Qaeda and ISIS; apparently what Al Qaeda has a problem with is that these hostages that ISIS have taken are humanitarian workers who are voluntarily there to help people in need including Muslims. Also, that such people who receive the humanitarian aid may be in the positions that they are in because of attacks by the Syrian government, which like ISIS, Al Qaeda is also hostile to.
Let me put this out there.

You put it out there now make it into a coherent sentence
I forget, isn't sky news as credible as the Sun, or the daily mail?

should i draw it out nice and slow and easier to digest for you?
Honestly I don't believe any of it, nobody should.
It's believable but people posting the usual crap of "oh lol even Al Qaeda thinks their bad!!" it has nothing to do with that they are a terrorist group for fucks sake. They most likely said killing him was a bad idea because killing all these random people all the time especially aid workers like Alan are just going to force more military intervention.
should i draw it out nice and slow and easier to digest for you?
no just type like a person

Yeah and they weren't targeting America then either so what's your point?

That nothing is black and white and that a group of people can have various motives, strategies and goals beyond being good guys/being bad guys?

The mujahideen was not Al Quaeda.

Al Qaeda did not organize itself to be an international group until 89, after the Soviet-Afghan War which was their original focus - or at least those who would later form the group's focus.
At the time, their only goal was pushing out the "atheist soviets" out of Afghanistan.

giga is a prefix meaning one billion. He's saying imagine Satan negotiating with an even more evil Satan.
Al Quaeda wanted him because they were going to negotiate a trade.
Beheading someone doesn't net you any money or favors.
Of course, this is all pure speculation.
Beheading journalists and aid workers is a recklessly stupid tactic from any rational viewpoint. It makes sense if their only real goal is to goad the US and UK into another pointless and wasteful war in the Middle East, but that runs contrary to their stated goal of establishing and managing an Islamic state. It's totally inconsistent and ridiculous.
Which makes sense, because nothing about IS is rational. They're just fucking nutbags who have been unusually successful at recruiting people. It can't last.
I think ISIS may literally be the most evil organization in human history
