VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WISH/WTHI) - The Vigo County Sheriff says alcohol might have been a factor in an accident involving a train in the northeast part of the county.
Police say Wednesday morning's crash happened around 2 a.m. at Rio Grande and Gallagher.
Officers say a truck was racing to beat the train when it was hit.
30-year-old Brian Rickard (yoteslaya), 24-year-old Ryan Cook and 20-year-old Ashlee Pugh were killed.
According to Vigo County Sheriff Greg Ewing, "Alcohol does look to be a factor at this time."
Investigators say the railroad crossing is marked with full cross arms and warning lights that appear to have been working properly at the time of the crash.
I didn't really watch him much myself but my friend was a fan and this seems like news to me. It's chilling. Didn't see this posted here so here it is.
As far as I
It's really weird seeing his videos and knowing he's dead, his page will now remain untouched for years unless someone has his login or Youtube dies, some sort of online legacy.
Makes you think how many more accounts of dead people there are in Youtube and other social media websites.

I don't wanna go too far off topic, but isn't there some kind of system on social networking sites to close profiles of the deceased? I mean I imagine its not always accurate but still.

I think his parents could request that page to be closed if they wanted.

I don't think they'd want to though. I'm sure fans will enjoy his old content for quite a while.

I don't know if I'd be able to watch videos with the knowledge that the guy is dead. I mean I guess I watch movies with deceased actors, but I don't know.
It says he was trying to do some action movie shit. Leap past the train before it got to the crossing. Isn't that really asking for death?
also done while drunk, while sad still incredibly dumb trying to beat a train

Makes you wonder. When you die, what kind of legacy would you leave on the Internet?
Google has a system in place that auto-deletes your content should you remain inactive for a set amount of time. Been that way for the last year.

Isn't that opt-in though?

I have an old ass video from 2006 on an old inactive youtube account. I have not logged in since 2006.

One of the moderators accounts on the shroomery has been dead for a few years, I think it was cancer.
Isn't that opt-in though?
Yes, I assume so.
I have a account from a long, long time ago that I made my first video on and haven't logged in to it for ages and it's still up. I just go to the channel page with my new account and it's fine.
Also, I find it very sad and mysterious, in a way when Youtubers die.
Have any Facepunchers passed away out of curiosity?

I can only assume, but it's not like we'd know.

I remember there was one who had a thread dedicated to him. Can't for the life of me remember who though.
Wow, that's a lot of subscribers...
Over half a million
I've never seen any of his videos, but I'm still saddened. He had over half million subscribers, most of which were waiting to see a new video by him, which will not happen anymore. That's pretty scary when you think about it.

I find it uncomfortable to find his latest video being posted a day ago while knowing that he passed away not too long after that.

Yeah some did, I also remember some dude who commited suicide in late 2012, was posted in AUATF.

what's even worse is he released a video yesterday ending on the usual see you guys later vibe.
-snip, look above-
It's weird watching one of videos hearing his voice, realizing he is actually dead
Don't drink and drive. Know your limits. Don't end up like this.
I don't get why you guys are so sympathetic. The guy was an idiot. His stupidity cost not only his own life but that of two other innocent people.
Whenever stuff like this happens it's just so surreal. It's not the same as, say, an actor/actress or music artist. They aren't always producing content by the hour like some people, and they aren't as connected to their fans.
This reminded me of an even called Warped Tour that took place in my state, and this young woman died there and you can still see her last posts on Twitter and Facebook and it's eerie as fuck. They were about how excited she was to see her favorite band. It was pretty sad.

Aw fuck, I didn't know he died. I used to play tribes with him back in 2012
shit man

This, no sympathy for this kind of behavior. Most people forget, what if his drunk driving caused someone you know and love to die? Would you be sympathizing then? Don't think so.

Or that chick that died in Lake Tahoe and her last tweets are like "Drunk as fuck, starting new tomorrow". Let's just say she never saw tomorrow...
