Basically they captured what a cat sees by scanning its brain and it's fucking creepy if you ask me.
Poor cat :(
Damn, that's creepy.
I never heard they were doing that here at Berkeley...damn I want to get in to this lab now.
that scared me for some reason when it just froze
That's really cool and simultaneously terrifying.
I hope they get better resolution in future.
So the domesticated cats see us as cat people?
I hope the furries never find out about this.
i immediately closed the video in absolute fright when it just froze and slowly zoomed in
why
so for cats humans have dog faces?

They're probably doing this in the Life Sciences Addition at the VLSB. I heard they have hyenas in there.
Well fuck sleep, man.
I dont want my cat to see me again, I'm a monster.
It's not really that creepy. It's actually quite awesome that we've come this far in translating brain-video into digital video. This is one step closer to a dream recording device, which, if you cut out the socio-political aspects of looking into someone's dreams, is something I want. I want to be able to record a dream and watch it later. That would be totally awesome.
Well, to be honest.. there is too much noise to actually be sure what was on this face. I bet these were just black noise dots... cats are bad, they see in low quality .jpg formats ;/
To me it looks like a demon goat head thing. Holy fuck I'm never going to sleep again.
I'm not sleeping tonight.
Also that cat had the biggest >:l face.

I bet dogs see in pngs
I knew that cats see things kind of blurry but wow
Wow cats can't see for shit.
I thought they were supposed to have amazing eyesight?

Remember that this isn't a precise science, there's still massive interference, which is why it's so bad.
Cats see as if everything were a Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff comic. Consunk useless cat eyes! :argh:
"Huh, well that's kinda disturbing. Wow, that's really creepy when it's frozen- OH GOD ITS ZOOMING IN"
Well be able to create screenshot of what out eyes see with the iPhone 9.
Anyway - that a brilliant piece of technology there. Weird that cat sees human face "catified".
oh god the cat does not look like he's enjoying that
This makes me want to see them do this on a human just to compare the differences.
Finally someone did this! I've been wanting to know what other animals can see.
Still, even our senses have limits.
I read an article that a dog's eyes see the colors that we see them differently.
Don't know if it's true.
Still pretty awesome
My cat catches flies, so i don't think he has a blurry view..
WOAH, hold on a second... you mean it is possible to translate neural signals into images?
Holy fuck, I didn't know that! Do it when the cat is asleep!

I don't think the image we saw on the screen is actually what the cats see through their own actual eyes. Much like when you look with your eyes, everything is clear and sharp, and I'm pretty sure it's the same for cats in a way..
But still that's interesting, cats seeing things in different light huh..
I'm pretty sure that cats can see better than this. Also it looked like a creeper face before it zoomed in.
If this is real: Fucking awesome
If this is fake: Fuck
