I for one think these aliens look pretty believable.
Looks like a mix between transformers and Battle: LA
and i still don't get why every alien race always has two arms and two legs.
I really can't take Rihanna seriously as an actress, she sounds high every time she talks.
I thought this movie was based on the board game lol

It's the easiest to work with, basically. Besides, why would they have more?
A better question is "why is this advanced alien race using boardgame pegs as missiles"
I don't really get the whole "Battleship" idea.
believable?Hell no,if these aliens had the technology to travel to earth from another planetary system they would have the technology to wipe us out in seconds.I will watch it to enjoy all the destruction anyway.

Possible, but there's also the possibility that they just wondered upon our planet while just crusing or something.

lol
The CGI work this company does is just unreal. I wonder what the visual effects budget was for this movie.
okay so basically everything in that video was wrong

The problem with that is that it's an assumption based off of human behavior.
Humans are a very violent and warlike species. We put a lot of emphasis on weapons development. However, it's highly unlikely a space-faring species would be like this. Our nature holds us back quite a bit, we'd probably already be flying around in space if we weren't so interested in killing each other.
Especially if a species is dominant or hasn't encountered any kind of developed civilization, it's totally possible that their weaponry is lacking. Whereas a human sees some kind of mass driver and thinks, "That can be a gun," it's possible for that thought to never cross the mind of another species.

highly debatable

wild speculation
Apparently nobody in this film says "They sunk our Battleship" at ANY POINT. That was the main reason for seeing this.

That is exactly what I said when my mate asked my opinion on it, he was actually considering seeing this rather than the Avengers (he's tight fisted).
the way she just says "boom" at the end and there's an explosion manages to round up everything i hate about generic action movies in about 3 seconds

Because being humanoid is the sign of being fucking super fucking advanced. Or so we want to believe.

That's like christopher colombus travelling without a crew equipped with guns.
lol no
Have you ever read a history book? We are constantly killing each other. And sometimes for very petty shit. I mean fuck, we have a war right now. What world do you live in?

Also the aliens are clearly attacking us and their weaponry seems lacking compared to their space travel technology, imagine what else we could do with anti matter except travelling with the speed of light. This is kinda stupid to be honest.Even their simpliest weaponry should consist of weapons of mass destruction to ensure survival while travelling and when I say destruction I am talking about wiping out a whole planetary system.Wouldn't you take such weapons while mining off planets?Just in case they are civilized
Lens flares everywhere.
I'm still going to watch it because aliens robots and pew pew. Would be good fun for however long it is.
I'm pretty sure it can't be worse than Transformers at least.
Why couldn't they just hire Michelle Rodriguez? She can act and is eye candy to boot.
Strogg?
Yeah the "Cyborg Aliens With Complex-Looking Tech" thing has been done a million times, last time in Battle: LA, but the sturdy design these guys have just reminds me of the Strogg very, very much. The gun arm doesn't do much to change that either.
Just watched it, Was pretty good honestly.
the movie makes you wonder abit,
[sp] humans shoot first, get fucked up. Then there are engineer/scientist aliens and brute soldiers, You see how the engineers/scientists weren't really aggressive like the soldiers.
One even let the human scientist go.
Their communication ship got wiped out on entry so maybe they wanted to contact.
Sure you see the vision but that could of been their home planet and them escaping.
in a way you see that humans are shoot first than patience and reason.[/sp]
While the CG does look great, I think the whole overuse of lens flares kinda ruin everything.

We only got to space because we're interested in killing each other.
And look at it logically. What species is more likely to reach space. A warlike expansionist species which created the necessary technology for war purposes.
A nonwarlike species which would not run into space isssues (remember not warlike) so would have no reason to reach space or develop the tech to do so.
And these aliens look like doom marines nabbed by the strogg.

First you make an argument that it wasn't military technology that got us into space and then you make an argument that warlike species are more likely to reach space?
And the race to the moon was a display of superiority through technology. Exploration was a secondary objective. What's the point to stick a flag into the moon for a scientist?
And I disagree that nonwarlike species wouldn't have a reason to develop space travel. They would still overpopulate the planet. Plus if they are smart enough to drop killing each other, I think next step would be trying to get as much knowledge as possible. Going to other planets would be means to do achieve it.
