North Korea is preparing to launch a long-range missile as early as next week, according to a Japanese news agency.
Kyodo cited an unnamed Japanese government official, who said there were signs of possible preparations for a missile launched based on analysis of satellite imagery.
Pyongyang conducted its fourth nuclear test on 6 January, a move that is expected to result in fresh United Nations sanctions.

"long range" of 50 meters
China is not going to like this at all.
I feel bad for the the 24 million people living in North Korea who are probably gonna get absolutely fucked in the next 20 years.
For some reason I have a bad feeling about this one. I can't put my finger on it exactly.
Just a feeling though.
No! Not the ocean!

Most likely it will land in the Pacific* Ocean somewhere, but not without going over Japan as a "warning" or some shit.
North Korea has been posturing for so damn long that at this point a legitimate attack would surprise the living hell of me. Brilliant strategy tbh. Bark loud and long and snap at the air until nobody takes you seriously anymore, then you'll have the advantage on the first strike.
north korea contributing to ocean pollution
thanks

That's seriously impressive if they could make it to the Atlantic.
Gotta keep up that dick-waving quota.

Well, We are suppose to be in range of their rockets but even then nuclear missiles from the 1960's had the ability to hit any target in the world after rocket motors had some time invested into them.
Although they don't really have many enemies expect for other Korea and i don't expect this to go the way of homefront and them uniting Korea under a single government.

More like North Korea doesn't have many allies except for china sometimes (except even China is starting to put troops on the North Korean border and talk about sanctions)
The second they do anything, I don't doubt China would cut ties and March an army into Pyongyang. China keeps NK on a pretty short leash, and they're not in the position to be going into open warfare right now.

Are you kidding? They see the United States as like their worst enemy.

Nowhere to go but up
i hope they try to shoot someone
I swear to god we need to shoot down one of their missiles and act like we didn't do it.
I very much doubt they could know anyway :v:
Everytime I see something like this I always wonder if NK will finally get a missle that WON'T pollute the ocean. Because so far, with the amount of tests, it's unclear if it's dickwaving anymore or if they're actually gonna do something.
I'll let the Sea of Japan know to watch out for falling debris
NK will never actually do anything except threaten an attack. The second they actually strike someone, an opportunistic general will stage a military coup with outside backing (could be China or could be US/US allies)
It's in NK's best interest to maintain the status quo. They can continue being the Best Korea Hermit Kingdom as long as they don't actually fight with anyone.

99% sure this will be said again next time nk tries to launch a missile and it ends up being nothing just like this one will
For the love of God, think of the whales!
You don't want to hurt your precious leader, right?
north korea has been doing stuff like this for years, nothing will come of it
why is now any different?

They've also got the advantage that the world hilariously underestimates them. Just like people in this thread joking that their nuclear weaponry isn't a threat just because they don't have ICBM capabilities. Seoul is less than 50 miles from the DMZ and theres a population of 10 million living there. North Korea doesn't want or need an ICBM delivery system.

North Korea waving their dicks? what dicks?

Taepodongs.
When we all make fun of a country like this it's hard to remember that it's actually run by adults (well, not publicly anyway), and their researchers aren't just goofy cartoon scientists with experiments that go poof. Continued tests only proves that they're making progress. SpaceX has had their fill of explosive shenanigans too except they can build new test rockets at will and have outside help. North Korea is impoverished and doing this alone, so the progress should be considered pretty scary
I wouldn't be surprised if part of the strategy is to parade around those mock-up long range missiles while working on the real deal

Every rocket program has a pretty shitty start

The internet makes fun of it but governments and military don't, that's why SK is always ready and there's international sanctions against NK after the nuke test
