I'm getting either a 2003 or 2004 Volkswagen Jetta TDI. These things are awesome, diesel engine, can get up to 45 mpg or more, shit-loads of torque, and can be run on bio-fuels easier than gas engines.
Like this but gray.
If you want fuel economy and performance buy a motorcycle.
Great choice dude.

If you're willing to also sacrifice safety standards and protection against the elements (motorcycling in the rain doesn't look fun).
Get a Tesla Roadster instead

I think electric cars just pass the emissions to power plants instead of eliminating them, and I'm not particularly fond of motorcycles(unless they are diesel powered).
If you're going to get a JETT then you might as well just get the volkswagon passat instead of the Jetta. I've driven both cars and I prefer the passat. Trust me on this.

A car is definitely better for travel than a motorcycle. Hands down.

The problem is finding a diesel version, nearly impossible to find in my area.
I thought the car would be really ugly but that car is really nice looking. Go for it! Dang now I want one.
agreed on the passat, a bit more expensive, but very worth it
I'm glad Volkswagen made a diesel in a smaller car. Incredibly useful for road trips.
A Passat would also be bigger.
The Jetta is ment to be the saloon-version of a Golf, just as the Bora before it.
If you however aren't in need of space a Jetta will do just fine.

Yes, but it creates far fewer emissions due to the efficiency of the electric motor. Plus electricity is extremely flexible and can be created from just about anything. If recharged from a renewable source there is absolutely zero emissions.

Man up pussy.
Why did you post an image of the rear of the car?
I wish my parents spoiled me with my first car.
I saved up my own money, and bought this beast for $1500 a few years back.

Spoilt kids. Mummy and daddy want to buy them an expensive car but it can't be too dangerous! Hence - VW.

that's a completely different model of Jetta
I drive a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero 3.4L V6. Costs me 55 dollars CND to fill her up, and I get 600km per tank. Damn great car. Though I would switch to diesel if I didn't like the getup and go of a petrol engine.
Tis me washing my car.

How much L fit into your tank?
I got an Opel Corsa B 1.2L V4 16V - Not really the fastest but fits mit requirements - and I get around 640km per tank (45 L).
My first car (which I bought mere months ago) is a 2005 1.6l Ford Focus Trend, in great condition, I'm the third owner and it barely had 37000km when I bought it. Worth the 7500€. Of my own money.
Still, it's a bit of a gas guzzler. I get 8.0l/100km (29.4 mpg) with normal driving and 8.4 l/100km (28mpg) in "POWEEEEEEER" driving style
For a first car, things you want are safety, fuel economy and reliability. I got 2 of those, but I don't really care much (yet) since I'm still pretty loaded.
