I have noticed that they are quite rare and i was looking into buying this one: http://torontoairsoft.com/product.php?id_product=955 I was wondering if there was a reason they are not very popular? is it because they are bad? or do people just not like them as much? If someone here actually does own an AUG, specifically the classic army one i linked above, can you tell me how it is?
Their not very rare at all. There's nothing wrong with them, but many people dislike them as the gearbox is right against your hear and will probably make you go deaf if you shoot a lot. The CA is a great AUG, but I'm not a Canadian so I can't tell you about that site or price. EDIT: Also, use the questions thread.
The only real problem is the noise as Kawaii stated. However having used the classic army AUG myself it can safely say it's not too bad. I'd recommend finding a way to try it out. The gun itself is light enough to use and is superbly built, very few people complain too much about classic army (apart from the hicaps they come with, it seems to go kaput in cold winter, which happened to my cousins CA53)
I have a CA AUG. and it is a good weapon, but you can get tired of it real fast. It has a good fire rate and shoots about 100m/s.
I used a JG AUG once. AUGs are very excellent for mid to close range skirmishes. The whole sound thing isn't that bad (unless the JG AUG's gearbox was crappy shappy compared to the one in the CA). My only problem was that (as any other JG gun) the AUG fell apart after like five skirmishes. CA guns have exceptionally reliable builds (which eliminates the problem.... hopefully), so I would go for it!
My friend got an JG Aug, I haven't used it much, but from what I can tell its pretty fun to shoot. [editline]19th March 2011[/editline] I personally like them, but my opinion dosen't necessarily apply to everyone.
AUGs can be a little back heavy at first but it's nothing you can't get used to.
Owned a CA AUGA2 and currently own a JG AUG A3. The gearbox doesn't make that much noise at all. 2 stage trigger is nice, but takes a while getting used to. The trigger pull is much harder than other AEGs because there's a bar running from the trigger all the way to the back where the gearbox is. Having all the weight in the back can get you after a while, recommend a sling for it.
Kind of bumping an old thread, but I owned a JG AUG once, and it fell apart really quickly. I didn't put any stress on it, at least to my standards, but it only lasted a few months. Maybe just bad luck on my part, but go with Classic Army to be safe.
Why bump this?
