Just finished watching this. Very good Justice League Origin Movie.

The writing in this one was so playful and nice
"Whatever your warcraft name is"
Brillant.
I liked the variety of Green Lantern's constructs but Hal was kinda being portrayed as a jerk here
We should probably start a DC animated films thread.
As for the movie, I liked it quite a bit. Plus, a very neat introduction to the style and characters of the New 52 (particularly Superman was done pretty damn well since he's usually kinda crap in other adaptations). Great voices all around. Art direction was obviously emulating Jim Lee's artwork and it's done a pretty reasonable job.
So yeah, good DC movie.
Oh shit, this is out? Gotta gather the herd. DC movie nights are our thing.

The release date is marked as the fourth of February? I guess it released earlier outside of America?

It's coming to home video on the fourth of February but it's available now in digital format on iTunes.
All of the League member depictions in this film were pretty spot on imo except for Superman and Wonder Woman. Clark's character is barely shown at all, and when it is he's just some aggressive bully who immediately retaliates against Batman and GL instead of asking them what their problem is. Yes, Diana is an outsider to man's world but she's not supposed to be some naive warrior obsessed with the battlefield and calling her friends "soldiers."
Other than that the action was pretty decent. Aquaman sticking his trident into Darkseid's last eye would've been a lot more epic than a flimsy crowbar but at least he can get his own animated movie now.

It's just a different take on a character, if they were the same in every movie/episode it would get boring wouldn't it?
I love how there is loads and loads of variants of personalities in DC chars.

This is a pro and con I have with these types of things
literally nothing is consistent so it feels like there is no 'real' story.
even when they make the best films (super hero movies all in all), well, yeah, it's just odd seeing characters skip around so much and not have much consistency. The show JL and JLU were gold, but had so many "What the FUCK is HAPPENING" moments.
The New 52 Superman and Wonder Woman are drastically different from their Post-Crisis/Pre-Flashpoint counterparts. I thought they got the young cocky headstron Nu52 Superman quite well.

That's because the writers for the show JL and JLU were mixing up stories from all eras and writers where characters, tone and style differed greatly. Plus they also had writers that preferred different aspects and styles of the characters' history, hence the further lack of consistency. The comics themselves are generally more uniform. As for the movie itself? Nothing about it was 'out of consistency' with their previous counterparts because it's an entirely new universe.
JL and JLU jumped all over the place and particularly Superman had the worst consistency.
Oh, there's a mid-credits scene. Almost missed it.
Don't normally watch DC stuff but this was pretty great
now that I'm actually watching it I'm very happy that superman actually seems to be as OP as he's meant to be
you know, doesn't recoil half a mile when he's hit with a pebble

I can appreciate a different take on a character. I just particularly didn't like those two in particular. They at least should've shown more of Superman's headstrong nature instead of just making him some weapon that Batman has to retrieve.
I wanted to see a WW more akin to the one present in the 2009 animated film but I guess you can blame it on the comic this film was based on which I was never really a huge fan of to begin with.

Well...any issue you have with the characters and storyline should mostly be directed to Geoff Johns since the film makers, imo, did a reasonably good job adapting Johns' take on Superman and Wonder Woman.
Which is fine btw since I personally think he's mediocre.

Yea I'm not a huge fan of him. I like what he did with Aquaman though.
