Ok this is a spin off of the "creepy threads" on here. Basically the idea is to try and decode some of the real numbers stations out there. NOT ones from video games...seriously If you have any info or decoded messages relating to this topic please post them here. Audio and youtube links are welcome also Messages covered: basic numbers stations morse code RTTY & PSK messages tone burst data messages plain voice cyphers
No, you're unaware of how they work, number stations can't be decoded. They run on One Time Pads and, barring human error such as a spy losing the decode pad, are theoretically unbreakable. If world governments haven't broke them, neither will you.

The one time pad system is just a theory.

There was a case years ago where Cuban spies got arrested and tried because an agent got the OTP program from his laptop and decoded the number station transmissions being received. That along with testimony from former agents, government officials, and the like also clearly show it's for clandestine espionage purposes. EDIT: See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_Five
The network received clandestine communications from Cuba via the Atención numbers station.
this thread isn't meant to start a flame war jesus. its just a thought. so numbers stations use a one time pad there are still other modes out there.. more of curiosity really

And yea there are other encryption modes out there but all of them are designed to be as hard to crack as possible and this topic would produce nothing but people going "huh wonder what that means"
