Usually I find this guy boring and unable to watch but this I fully agree with.
-snip-
23:05 there are a food and drink bar right next to the health bar :v: [editline]18th December 2012[/editline] even though, he is kinda right about it not being an aspect (if your food or drink bar is empty you loose health which you can replenish by using bandages and whatnot, which is extremely dumb)
The War Z had all the right pieces to be a great game but they mucked it up. Bad.
I got 10 minutes into it and I really can't even watch it, it is like the guy has never played games before. Sorry but he is a complete idiot in how he describes things. When he first died there was a zombie right next to him that hit him, and the in-game transactions sure they aren't the hottest thing ever but you don't have to use them. The game is quite a bit better than DayZ and worse in other aspects. But this guy just seemed to of read a bunch of hate towards it online went in and started spewing that out. Also the 100 player servers says on the steam page an UPCOMING feature, I swear this guy is completely trying to make everything bad when it isn't. What an idiot
Nowhere does it say that it is an upcoming feature on the steam frontpage, same with the missing skill points, big maps , and so called player vs environment. This is false advertising and they could even get sued for this.

What an idiot
"Up to 100 Players per Game Server" is under key features. This is under upcoming features: "Launching December 2012 - January 2013 Leaderboards Private Gameworlds and Stronghold servers rentals Extensive list of building blocks to make your Stronghold server unique and build your own survival sanctuary" They went into a "Full release" simply so people could not get a refund for it being a "beta/alpha" They are terrible developers for this game. It would be 100x better if someone made a new game. (DEAD MATTER hopefully?)
Although it doesn't really look all that good, he's doing nothing but seemingly reading out bad reviews as he doesn't even try to play properly.
Totally agreeing with him, they promote this as the ultimate zombie game or shit but its seriously nothing, just a plain alpha game. Also for the fact i heard numerous times people spent money in that store just to be instantly killed by a asshat at the spawn, losing your gear. Wait for the stand-alone DayZ, get Zomboid perhaps (Single player only) or if you really want the best of it, wait till Dead Linger reaches a sort of beta stage. Don't even come close to the steam store page of this piece of shovelware
The War Z had all the right pieces to be a great game but they mucked it up. Bad.
Even then, the pieces were blatanty copied. This game seems to be exactly what people first thought, a quick cash-in on DayZ.
Even then, the pieces were blatanty copied. "The models are awful as well, just look how jagged these rocks are"... Apposed to smooth rocks
also regarding that piece of information that warz was in production before dayz, i'm pretty sure it WAS in the works before dayz a couple of years back, but the project was on hiatus/dropped until dayz came out and the devs suddenly picked it up again and said, "lol we've been working o this a lot longer it'll be better"
"The models are awful as well, just look how jagged these rocks are"... Apposed to smooth rocks
There's a difference between good ol' jagged rocks and jagged jagged rocks.
So not only you have to pay for this thing, but it has p2w-esque microtransactions too ? what the fuck
What a miserable excuse for a video game, I saw vinesauce play it about 2 months ago when it was in beta and nothing has changed from the looks of it.
I think this is the first time I've actually heard TB sounding upset for real.
It's kind of strange hearing a guy with a british accent say "zee" instead of "zed" (yes I know he lives in the United States).
http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1216027 I actually pre ordered this game. I really thought it looked good. 5 minutes after I started playing I knew I've been fooled. It's like those gameplays are scripted so they'll hide all the things which we hate about this game. Don't ever buy this game, a total waste of money.
So not only you have to pay for this thing, but it has p2w-esque microtransactions too ? what the fuck
everything in the microtransaction store is either worthless (in the sense you can collect plenty of it in the game, wandering through towns) or cosmetic. When you first pick up the game it's frustrating because of how unforgiving it is for people to just join and sprint around. When you sprint through a town full of zombies and all you have is a flash light, no shit, you're going to die. If you take your time to slowly go through towns and collect gear you'll be fine. A lot of content and bug fixes have been rolled out since Day 1 alpha, it may reuse some assets from War Inc, but if reusing assets made a game bad or boring then all Valve games would be absolute shit and CoD wouldn't be known for its outrageous sales.
I think this entire thing can be resumed in the fact that you can't swim and the thing preventing you from doing so is an invisible wall the last time I saw an open-world game that didn't let you swim was GTA: Vice City, and you actually drowned in that. This is a cash in, it's unfinished, and anyone defending this game should literally feel ashamed of themselves

Go for a swim, try not to drown. That isn't even half the shit you'd be carrying in War Z. So if not being able to swim "BREAKS UR IMMURSIONS" then I don't know what to tell you.
that guy is carrying a flashlight and some food and a normal shirt and pants
So you want the devs of War Z to add an in depth weight system to determine whether or not a character can swim? For what, your stupid ass to be shot in the middle of the lake because it's not like it'd be PAINFULLY OBVIOUS you'd be swimming across and unable to defend yourself? Swimming across really would save no time from walking around to the other side of the lake. Well, I guess you could die and maybe spawn closer to your destination I guess. Or do you want to shoot while swimming, too?
Better than invisible walls that's for sure
It'd be a gimmick. An unneeded measure. All it would cause is more deaths because dickhole bandits would camp lakes for some stupid asshole to try and swim across.
Well, I don't think they have to worry about gimmicks. They already kinda ballsed it up with the cash shop. What kind of survival game gives you the ability to turn real money into funbux which you can use to just get everything you need for survival.
you CAN'T get everything you need for survival from the shop though. You can't buy guns. You can only buy melee weapons which aren't even THE BEST MELEE WEAPON. The knife is the best melee weapon in the store, and the hatchet (way fucking better than the knife) which is found in the world is ONLY FOUND IN THE WORLD. Yeah, that red beret you bought from the store is totally going to up your chances of survival!! The best use of the currency you get turned into "funbux" is renting servers which aren't even attached to the main server, they'd be private servers for you and your friends to dick around on.
It'd be a gimmick. An unneeded measure.
Um, you can buy food and drinks there? Thus, you can sustain yourself just on the cash shop. Sure, defending yourself is a whole diffirent thing but seeing how you can buy drum mags I don't think ammo will be a problem once you bag a M4 or something
It seriously isn't hard finding food and drinks or ammo in the world. It isn't. I purely survive on things I find in the world and I always have a surplus. If you actually buy something from the store it's probably because you just picked up the game and you haven't learned the map yet. Once you know where the good spawn drops are you'll feel like a complete moron for wasting all that money on shit you could have easily found yourself.
so? if you get killed by players crossing the water maybe it's a bad idea to cross the water. just because something is bad strategy doesn't mean it should be 100% removed from the game. the game makers were just lazy. there is no way you can defend that.
There's an implemented but-not-used weight system in the game, and they're planning on adding swimming some time down the road. Maybe they have the weight/swim system in mind, and they're trying to balance it so you don't have to be practically naked to swim across the lake. I don't know, I'm not the devs.
there are spots in the game that you can just camp and server hop that holds major loot, like the helicopter on the top right of the map. server hop for ~hour and you're likely to bag several automatics, semi automatics, and maybe a sniper or two.
and why the fuck are there micro-transactions like that in a game you already payed for? i get the ftp model. however, if you are paying full price you shouldn't be put at a disadvantage for not paying extra for food, ammo, and weapons.
