Post some bands that you never hear being talked about
(User was banned for this post ("Post Your" - Perfumly))
Skinny Puppy, Psyclon Nine, Combichrist, Ministry, NinjaSpy, She Wants Revenge, Ratatat, :wumpscut:, The Agonist. I could really go on, but unless I introduced people I know to these bands, no one knows of them.
I know of Ratatat and Combichrist.
Skinny Puppy, Psyclon Nine, Combichrist, Ministry, :wumpscut:
I know of these bands.
I've listened to every one of them, actually.
And I've heard of Skinny Puppy (who hasn't? :v:), Combichrist, Ministry, and The Agonist. Listened to them all, too. :v:
Here, I'll throw some bands out, too:
Dark Age, Callenish Circle, Sybreed, Hypnosis, Burden of Grief, Beyond the Embrace, and Pro-Pain.
:v:
Post some examples of said bands.
King Crimson, Suffocation, The Smiths, Kiko Loureiro,Guthrie Govan, The Pixies, Autechre, Earth Crisis, The Mars Volta, At The Drive In
Do you mean no one talks about it like, online and in magazines, or mainstream wise like if you just took your average music listener out of the streets?
Assuming it's the latter, Television. I've never read anyone say anything about their album Marquee Moon that isn't praising it, but no one's heard anything about them.

Iron Maiden, Anthrax, and Megadeth.
I know that those bands had been around for a long time, released multiple albums, and are quite influential. They seem to be ignored where I'm at, in lieu to be replaced with bullshit such as Skipknot, Jonas Brothers, Kanye West, and Taylor Swift.
:sigh:

They are over-praised by a shit ton, also, I like how you completely ignored Slayer out of the big 4, yeah, they're called the big 4, I'm assuming that's a big title since it's given to them by 90 percent of all metal heads who've ever listening to metal. If you really want good metal, you have to dig deeper, most people start with thrash, they praise it for some amount of years ,then they want deeper music, they move down to death metal, once you get down to the extreme metal genres, nothing else really matters in terms of metal. After that, you have a general understanding of music, I used to love death metal, nothing can be better, but it had opened up my eyes and now I love latin music and jazz music, anything demanding a high sense of style, artistic abilities, and instrumental knowledge.

What I'm referring to is music known to the average Joe, not someone who listens to the metal genre a lot. And about Slayer, it is somewhat overheard where I live, thanks to Guitar Hero (which is kind of annoying, as Slayer is pretty good).

Where I live, it is common to the average joe, my mom listens to Celine Dion 24/7, but she even knows who the big 4 are (with a exception of Anthrax) The big 4 is just less common with your generation, the younger ones, my mother used to listen to slayer believe it or not, and my dad is into morbid angel.
I never see enough people talking about Meshuggah.

I'm surprised I never hear any of my metal head friends talk about disarmonia mundi. Very good stuff.

Also I've never heard my hardcore/screamo friends talk about versus the mirror.

Or the sound of Animals fighting

In fact there are lots of bands I never hear anyone talk about.
Meat Puppets. (Refer to my thread)
I've only ever seen or heard one other person mention The Victorian English Gentlemens Club before.

Disarmonia Mundi are pretty damn good.
Disarmonia Mundi, Insomnium, and Mors Principium Est; insanely fun bands to play songs by on Frets on Fire.
Great bands, too.

I live in Vancouver(Skinny Puppy's home town) and only people I seem to tell about them know about them.

Hey, I know them. They're actually not bad.
King Crimson, Suffocation, The Smiths, Kiko Loureiro,Guthrie Govan, The Pixies, Autechre, Earth Crisis, The Mars Volta, At The Drive In
I know of King Crimson, have heard some of Kiko's wotks, barely know of The Pixies, and I know and listen to The Mars Volta on occasion.
