• Turkey summons ambassador as Russia violates airspace.
Turkey says a Russian jet has violated its airspace and it has summoned the Russian ambassador to Ankara. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned Russia would "face consequences if it continues such violations". Tensions have been high between Ankara and Moscow since Turkey shot down a Russian plane which violated its airspace near Syria in November. Russia has been carrying out air strikes in Syria to support government troops near the Turkish border. "A Su-34 plane belonging to the Russian Federation air force violated Turkish airspace at 11:46 local time yesterday (Friday)," the Turkish foreign ministry said. Its statement said the Russian ambassador had been summoned to "strongly protest at and condemn" the incident.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-35449152
Turkey needs to be kicked out of NATO before they drag everyone eLs down
Summoned him? Did they have to have a pentegram of vodka and caviar?
Kick Turkey out of NATO so Russia will remove kebab already.
Recalling your ambassador is a step toward open conflict. Hopefully they don't take anymore steps in that direction.
Recalling your ambassador is a step toward open conflict. They summoned the Russian ambassador, generally meaning they want to talk to the ambassador.
Oh, I misread. I thought they summoned their own ambassador from Moscow
Again? What do they teach Russian pilots "oh always fly into other people's space, play chicken with every plane you see, and do make sure to never talk about it"
Yeah, Russian pilots sure are dumb enough to fly into Turkey's airspace again after the shot down Su-24. It's obvious Erdogan just doesn't want Russia to mess his oil business with ISIS.
Turkey needs to be kicked out of NATO before they drag everyone els down
Not really, for NATO to kick in Russia would have to be the one to start the war and Russia doesn't want a war with NATO. If Turkey starts a war then NATO can refuse to help. So basically, if Russia starts, Russia gets NATO'd, if Turkey starts Turkey gets Russia'd. It's lose-lose, this will never escalate to a war.
why is everyone so quick to go at turkey? it violated turkish airspace, they have every right to enforce their boundaries.
why is everyone so quick to go at turkey? it violated turkish airspace, they have every right to enforce their boundaries.
People are quick to pounce on Turkey because Turkey is a pretty terrible country as of late.
why is everyone so quick to go at turkey? it violated turkish airspace, they have every right to enforce their boundaries.
Turkey is assisting ISIS.
Turkey is assisting ISIS.
does that somehow null and void their right to protect their airspace? it's completely irrelevant to the situation
People are quick to pounce on Turkey because Turkey is a pretty terrible country as of late.
I'm pretty sure they've always been terrible.
Turkey is assisting ISIS.
And? They wouldn't be totally okay with Russia being retarded if they weren't
And? They wouldn't be totally okay with Russia being retarded if they weren't
Well Russia is trying to stop them from doing it, most of the routes they survey are the routes leading INTO Turkey.
does that somehow null and void their right to protect their airspace? it's completely irrelevant to the situation
no, but now you know why everyone is so quick to go at turkey, which is the question you asked in the first place
does that somehow null and void their right to protect their airspace? it's completely irrelevant to the situation
Russia is bombing ISIS most ISIS goods and money go to turkey and from turkey Russians bomb ISIS supply lines from Turkey turkey is angry their jihadi pals arent giving them oil
Partition turkey
why is everyone so quick to go at turkey? it violated turkish airspace, they have every right to enforce their boundaries.
Except Turkey's definition of their airspace isn't always in according with everyone else's.
Seeing what Turkey did to the Kurds ever since they "joined in on the fight against ISIS", they definately need to be kicked out of NATO. The EU should still show some spine and do something about Russia entering our air space the entire time.
Russia is bombing ISIS most ISIS goods and money go to turkey and from turkey Russians bomb ISIS supply lines from Turkey turkey is angry their jihadi pals arent giving them oil
Yeah that's wrong, Turkey is really angry with Russia because we bomb turkmen militants near their border. RuAF does that because having neutral YPG and associated groups there is better than having a nest of hostile forces that also pose a very real threat of becoming a foothold for possible Turkish buffer zone. So Erdogan is really pissed off that their proxies are getting mixed into mud, and as if that wasn't enough, Kurds are taking their place. So it isn't all black and white there with Turkey, they have actual proper political and military interests there beyond some alleged shady dealings with ISIS. As of late the bombings have been getting closer and closer to Turkish border, so I'm not completely certain it's another provocation by RuAF (as was definitely the case before Turkey shot one down) as opposed to genuine mistake while manoeuvring. Which would also explain why Turkish AF didn't engage the Su-34, they probably figured as much and decided to let it pass and send angry words rather than escalate. Why the pilot didn't answer when warnings were issued - they're instructed to never, under any circumstances do that; get shot down and die a fiery death but don't engage in a communication. As for why Russia denies it, that's our government's modus operandi in foreign relations - deny everything, no matter how stupid that makes them out to look.
Get violated Turkey.

Also you don't have to fly into someone else's airspace to drop a bomb on a convoy in syria

ISIS has been selling oil on the black market for like 15 dollars a barrel from the start.
Summoned him? Did they have to have a pentegram of vodka and caviar?
No, this is the traditional Turkish summoning dance:
