We’re in a lot of trouble!” And, as Beale would shout, we should be mad as hell. Issuing a decision that triggered dismay and anger among supporters of an Internet open and free to all, a federal appeals court on Tuesday overruled the Federal Communications Commission and set the stage for a near future in which such service providers as Verizon and AT&T could give preferential treatment to websites willing to pay a higher price for access and speed...
Bullshit.
I dunno, it's getting worse everyday. They're silently making things legal that are completely illegal at the moment.
Whatever you do, goverments will do whatever the fuck they want. Simply cause there's nothing to stop them besides soms bad PR
this is not going to end well
It's only a matter of time.

Whatever happens, it's best to live it up and watch all the porn your cock desires.
But that means they will remove the annoying ads on their sites... yeah...
[thumb]http://freshinfos.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/thepiratebay.jpg[/thumb]
No.. This is about ISP's charging extra for you to access websites faster. You can't download websites from the pirate pay. Also, without net neutrality ISP's can simply limit torrents to 1 kb/s speeds, so good luck downloading anything.
It's only a matter of time.
This is the kind of thing that would start a civil war. Not things like health care or gender issues or drug legalization, this right here would provoke an uprising. Far too many people would be utterly pissed.
But that means they will remove the annoying ads on their sites... yeah...
Who cares? Anybody that's annoyed enough with ads has adblock by now.
Fuck theese guys, FUCK theese guys. Thats just evil, seriously that is just evil.

Yeah I can totally pirate facebook and wikipedia
jesus, I would not want to live in the US right now
Whatever you do, goverments will do whatever the fuck they want. Simply cause there's nothing to stop them besides soms bad PR
Given that the FCC was the one opposed to the plan and was trying to regulate it so they couldn't do this, you're completely off mark.
Wouldn't this also make it legal for ISP's to modify the ads on the webpages to earn them money? I remember reading an article about a guy who found his ISP was doing this illegally, but the ISP got away with it because authorities were too dumb to understand.
I dont think the government understands how much killing net neutrality will hurt us in the long run for the short-term gain of some corporations.

Far too many people would be utterly pissed.
Would it? So many people just use the kind of sites that are on that chart already. They would grumble about prices going up and then continue about their day. I just wish there was something I could do to stop this. Nobody seems to realise that an open internet is what allowed the big sites of today to grow big, back when they were an idea in someone's head.
Well, there's always hope for the Supreme Court, right? Ha.
It can't be that bad This post was sponsored by AT&T
jesus, I would not want to live in the US right now
Me neither. But seeing as how the US has such influence, it wouldn't surprise me if internet in Europe gets shit on soon enough. Then again we here in Sweden have fun with the lovely people at Radiotjänst who have the legal right to charge you even though you do not use their services.
sales for VPN's will skyrocket. Maybe investing in some VPN business would be smart right now.
If I recall correctly, Verizon is against it and won't mess with anybody's internet. Whether or not they keep that promise is unknown, but here's hoping it works out okay.

This is already done in a lot of places with public Wifi as well, but nobody seems to care.
I dont think the government understands how much killing net neutrality will hurt us in the long run for the short-term gain of some corporations.
The government's been doing a lot of hurting us in the long run for the short-term gain of some corporations lately
How come bullshit like this is happening more and more often lately? I've literally reached boiling point with the shitty oiled up greaseballs of the worlds government. Fuck this planet. And nothing will change unless people are willing to stand up to their government but thats not going to fucking happen, people will just sit at home and moan without taking action. If nobody takes action of course nothing will bloody change. Ugh.

Ugh.
The thing about the US in particular is that it's a rather sedate population that doesn't protest over much the last really big protests were the Vietnam War protests and even then the nation was divided about drafting random teenagers into a war with a country noone cared about so it'll probably be on the websites themselves to try and negotiate with ISPs like with SOPA
