Seriously, the amount of spam threads that have been popping up lately is stupid and they're all from the same person advertising.. I don't even KNOW what he's advertising, he makes dozens of the same website with the same content over and over again, the websites don't have any structure they're just like.. I mean, look at this one:

New Summer Shoes Design are Present There. Latest Summer Dress only for Women's Kept in our site.
Okay so Wallpaper, Punjabi culture and shoes.. Seriously, what the fuck kind of website is that? As well as all of the above it also has information on Pakistan and Pakistani culture that has been copy/pasted from Wikipedia. It's retarded.
So can we have some sort of protection other than just Captcha on the registration please? Or how about we resort to the old "no posting threads until you have x amount of posts"?
Fucking agree.
I agree with no posting threads without x amount of posts.
The spambots will fail, the idiots who sign up will all get banned trying to spam, and facepunch will go back to the good 'ol days...
...
Well, I can wish.
Agree
If the mods haven't IP banned him yet I suggest they do.

A lot of people register here to just ask for help/support etc for gmod, so it would be a pain for them to have post a bit, then they can finally make their thread.
But I do agree with everything else.
Something like 10 posts before you can make a thread wouldn't be bad. Better yet you must have 10 smartness.
Most forums now have a intense 1 question questionnaire.
e.g "What's 1+1?" or "Are you a bot?"
Maybe Garry should employ that.
Also make the time between New topics 1 minute or something.
need more captcha

Bots can beat that now.
This, dear god, this!
Or how about we resort to the old "no posting threads until you have x amount of posts"?
This is probably for the best
Don't we have captcha codes or can bots beat them too?
They're not bots, they're people.
They're not bots, they're people.
Nobody's that desperate.

Most bots can beat captcha now.
People can get that desperate actually.

Then restore the "no posting threads until X amount of posts" thing like we had on Facepunch Studios

Tell me more about this "Facepunch Studios"

This. It'll also stop newfags making topics in Fast Threads.
They're not bots, they're people.
Yeah, but they can't be very smart if they spam this website thinking we are actually going to use their posted services.
Why not allow people to post in the gmod forum but have the no threads before x posts everywhere else. The gmod forum might get spammed more but at least only one is versus all.
Why aren't all of these wishes and suggestions going to the get satisfaction site??

It had a bunch of cool stuff that's gone, maen. It was pretty sweet.
I still love Facepunch as is though.
If you do not love facepunch, you belong somewhere else.

Cuz we're dumb.
cant make thread without X amount of post expect for in the help subfourms, such as Technical Support,Newbie Questions, and Help & Support
That sounds like a good rule to me.
I haven't really noticed any ads like that around the site. Could just be because I like to stay in the GD.

This.
Or maybe have different amount of posts for different sub-forums. Like 50 posts for a thread in GD, 30 for Fast Threads, and a minimum of 0 posts for the help sub-forums.

Because noone can be arsed signing up to an account there to post something that probably won't be looked at when you can just post a thread here for pretty much instant viewing.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
