NATICK, Mass. (WHDH) -- It was a rocky ride for two local businessmen on a trip to Arizona when a boulder came crashing through their car window.
The 150-pound rock smashed the windshield but they escaped with only minor injuries.[
One of the men talked to 7News about the close call.
It was meant to be a scenic trip through Sedona, Arizona and the images turned out to be unforgettable for a Natick man; Sedona's famous rocks up close.
“It was this big and it came right through the window at us,” said Bob Jaczko.
Bob Jaczko was pinned in the passenger seat when a 150-pound boulder fell from a cliff and smashed the windshield of his rental car.
“It crashed into the shift gears and threw the car in park cause all of a sudden…the car stopped.
Jaczko was travelling with a coworker. The Attleboro man, Peter Wilson, was in the driver's seat.
“We looked and we were covered in glass. The glass had turned to like -- sprinkles on an ice cream cone. We were covered in it,” Jaczko said.
With his arm stuck under the boulder, Jaczko said he needed his friend to get him out.
“He pulls me out and I look and the rock was kind of like a vegetable peeler. Just took all the skin off the side of my arm,” said Jaczko.
Tourists, including two nurses, stopped to help the men.
“We were a wreck. He was covered in blood, I was covered in blood,” Jaczko said.
Police told them a recent rain storm must have loosened the soil under the rock that dropped from the top of a cliff.
Jaczko never expected to see a boulder so close, but he said he left Sedona with a pretty good outlook.
“I'm feeling strangely lucky. It really was a life affirming moment,” Jaczko said.
Since the pictures in Sedona aren’t what Jaczko planned on taking, he said he'd like to head back out there. He said he'd even like to try another drive through Oak Creek Canyon..
The photo of the attacker before it was apprehended by Homeland Security.
And right after we attempted to make contact via Morse code too! This is worse than Pearl Harbor!
Yep, sounds like Arizona to me.
Welcome to Arizona, MOTHERFUCKER
We must prepare to make war with all boulders on this fine earth.
Martian cunts. Mars is ours, you scumbags!
Everything, including inanimate objects, try to kill you in Arizona.
It begins
We must glass the surface of Mars!

I though that was Australia
Martian cunts. Mars is ours, you scumbags!
Oh I thought you literally meant, 'martian cunt.' I was planning on having sex with all of their wives and creating a race of martian rock creatures similar to that of Onix or Golem. Then we'd train them. Then we'd fight them.
Gentlemen, it's well worth the chafed penis.

Definitely wouldn't ever expect a rock that size to come through my windshield. Pretty lucky it didn't hit them.

That rock doesn't look 150 lbs. Maybe 80 or something.
Reminded me instantly of this.
(SPOILER WARNING)

So the rocks have been living among us all along... oh god, better lock all doors and windows
That rock doesn't look 150 lbs. Maybe 80 or something.
Uh, rocks are solid objects. There is no air or space in them. If someone pulverized all your bones into dust and then crunched you up into a ball you'd probably be about the same size

There are alot of rock types out their, extremely porous light rocks, or extremely dense rocks. Like volcanic rock.

Let me be the second to inform you that rocks are dense motherfuckers
edit: third!

I was under the impression volcanic rock was very porous, seeing as it appears to crumble all the time, no?

I have been on several roadtrips through the Salt River Canyon and have been scared of rockslides on many of those trips. Last time I drove through there to an eastern part of the state we heard on the radio a few hours after we drove through it that there had been one.

Depends on what he means by volcanic rock. If he means the tiny rocks that get blown into the air when it erupts, then it's very porous. So porous it can float on water.
If he means the hardened magma, then it's pretty dense, I think.
