If only the iPhone version were out to help the Germans pass that time. This Battlefield 3: Aftershock, the version of the military shooter bound for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Obviously, the mobile multiplayer spin on Battlefield 3 isn't as visually impressive as its PC and console counterpart, but maybe it'll do in a pinch? EA Mobile's Battlefield 3 doesn't have a firm release date, but it does have Origin integration, multiplayer and some single-player challenges—just no campaign. Sure, Aftershock could use a little proofreading and it's nigh impossible for a mobile game to live up to the game's graphics on the PC, but maybe it'll be a great time waster.
Actually, it doesn't look half bad. Let's see what comes out of this...
Neat. Bad Company is on the iPhone, but doesn't look nearly as good as that.
it doesn't look bad but the controls will be god awful which is the problem with any shooter on a phone
There already is a battlefield for the iphone, and for the record, it's terrible. Eh, I might buy it out of pure curiousity. Just as long as it isn't >$2, which it probably will be.
No wonder EA's been shitting all over the PC version.
It looks nice, but I can't even imagine how clunky the controls would be.
$20 says it has an ingame server browser.

Controls will be unbearable.
Playing this would have horrible controls, and probably make your ipod extremely hot.
So BF3 is coming to everything except Steam :v:
To be honest it'd be fun if iPhone FPS games weren't absolutely shit with controls.
How the fuck do you play a FPS on an iPhone
looks okay actually. and to everyone who isn't down with the iphone controls, there are a couple of games that accomplish the controls very well actually. one of the examples is COD:Zombies which has an excellent set of controls. (well the best out of the gang anyway). it just takes getting used to.
How the fuck do you play a FPS on an iPhone
Tablet FPSes are surprisingly easy to play.
I've always hated handhelds because of the lack of controllers. It makes it hard to get a real hands-on feel.
I would love to see actual videos of this. This is really neat to be honest.
I thought that there were decent third party gamepads for the iphone? I guess they never saw the light of day since google doesn't bring up anything thats released...
How the fuck do you play a FPS on an iPhone
There's simulated analog sticks on the screen, you hold it in landscape orientation and kind of use it as you would a PS2 controller. Usually the fire buttons are worked into the analogs.
To think, my first PC would never have been able to run a game that looked like that.. now its available on handheld devices, the last 12 years have been amazing.

There's already an app that lets you use the camera to bring up information on whatever you're looking at. Just change it into sunglasses, and BAM.
Actually, it doesn't look half bad.
It dosent look a tenth bad..
Dead Space on the iphone=controls were bearable, got used to them after a while. Bad Company 2 on the iphone= oh dear god my thumbs hurt what the fuck who designed this.
BC2 plays like shit on my 2G ipod :v; Which, for the record, I'm posting on facepunch with right now.
http://battlefieldo.com/battlefield-3-aftershock-pictures/ more pics if anyone is interested
I'll add those to the OP.
I wonder if it will have an in game server browser.
I'm surprised the iPad can even handle BF3.
HOLY SHIT http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1097783-Battlefield-3-v3-Now-with-questions?p=31836290&viewfull=1#post31836290 I THOUGHT HE WAS FUCKING JOKING OH MY GOD
Good thing I have an iPad. This looks like fun.
Meh the controls are gonna' be crap, and the Iphone might just explode and burn you to death after like a hour or somethin'
