My apologies if there is already a thread in the UE section for graffiti. Topic 1: Most will agree that the general vandalism of "SUCKMYD!CK EATMYAZZ FCUKYOU" type of graffiti is unnecessary and generally unpleasant on the eyes. However you feel about vandalism, a really cool piece should be regarded as art, all the more-so because of its placement. (not in a gallery) Topic 2: Many graff artists go in abandoned buildings either to practice or to find a cool place to do a piece. Personally I wish that abandoned buildings had no graffiti or destruction to them. Would be great to find it dusty, rotted, and preserved. Topic 3: In my opinion as far as any graffiti goes, no matter how shitty the tag, it is all about where it is. The true appreciation to vandalism is wondering how the hell the person got up there to paint it. It being a good piece is an added bonus. And here is an interview with a graffiti artist:
That's some pretty interesting stuff, and he's not that bad either. Usually I'm against graffiti.. But the reason he does it seems alright.
When I was on holiday I saw a really nice piece of graffiti, it was really abstract and actually made the building look better, otherwise it would have just been a ruin by the side of the road. I really regret not taking a picture of it.
There's a huge graffiti wall in new york near the east village. It has been featured in several magazines and is considered public art. They change it every month I think
There is also 5pointz in long island.... which I think they might unfortunately be demolishing soon. I honestly don't mind graffiti. I think it's worth having the shitty stuff because a lot of it is really good and I think it enhances the experience sometimes. It's also comforting because it means someone else has been where you are.
Wow. I find a lot of graffiti in places I go. I don't have pictures for abandoned places, but I do have places for public cities. Actually, NYC is where these pictures are from. Some are pretty nice.

edit: I forgot about this one time I went to a building, and my friend made some graffiti art there of Alex from A clockwork orange. It looks awesome, however they sadly demolished the building the day after he did it. So I have no picture.
