Imagine being so much of a shallow cunt that you have to fucking sue people for no reason in order to get get your kicks on. Leave the poor sob alone.
Wow they're picking on this dude in a wheel chair with no legs because, actually, I have no idea why they are suing him. I don't get it. I watched the video, I still don't understand. What has he done?

I watched the video, I still don't understand. What has he done?
Well, they themselves seemed to sum up as "we are tax payers, and we want building codes to be enforced, because they are supposed to be enforced" Which roughly translates to: "we're lonely, retired, and uninspired people who can't sleep soundly knowing that someone, somewhere, is enjoying themselves."
In all fairness, there are soil contamination concerns when operating a garage, but they never even mentioned that so they're just cunts I guess. Probably the type of shits that'd report someone going 5mph over the speed limit. 'This sets precedent for other people not to follow building codes?' Bitch please, as if there aren't already people that don't follow them to the letter.
This is what happens when you have retired losers with nothing better to do than waste their pensions to use the legal system to play bully in their community. "But if he's allowed then everyone will just suddenly open a garage on the street!" You wish you had the technical ability to do something that cool you moldy fuck. Get a real hobby, play video games or something. She had a miniature seizure when she said "this could set a precedent", when right before she had said "but we're just following the law by submitting complaints". Precedents change laws bitch. Hope he counter sues and gets his $25k back. She also complained about someone else down the street repairing a car in their driveway, what loons. edit: holy shit, there's a gofundme that raised 24k to cover his legal fees.

they're really taking the "I'd like to speak to a manager" lifestyle up a notch, this is tough to watch I'm going to assume they've resorted to lawsuit because they were extremely snooty and told him directly not to do his shit, probably raised a toxic environment with him and got attitude back, and now are lashing out because he's just a mean coot who disrespects them
Gofundme to help with the dude's legal fees: https://www.gofundme.com/neighbors-vs-williams-milton-de-2tvbfck

-quoting a bible verse and calling for his death
what the shit [editline]e[/editline]
If you watched the video you would've seen that
thanks

I need a cigarette now. Good lord what a couple of useless busybodies. That garage is beautiful, as well. Looks like his dream come true, probably. Until a couple freaks decide to start picking on him, of course. Sheesh.
Imagine being so butthurt about your neighbour doing something they're completely in their right to do that you spend $40,000 harassing them. How empty must these womens' lives be?
Imagine being so butthurt about your neighbour doing something they're completely in their right to do that you spend $40,000 harassing them. How empty must these womens' lives be?
at least 40,000 bucks emptier now
That's an awesome garage set up and he sounds like a pretty cool guy. Such a shame that he is having to go through the court system for doing what he loves to do because according to the two women, he should not be allowed to enjoy himself. I really hope this guy gets his money back, plus compensation for the garbage he is going through.
Why is it always old white hags doing this shit. I remember seeing a group of 80 year old women complaining about a bike lane being painted onto the road on the news a month or so ago because it sets the precedent of people bicycling in their quiet community.
If he was using something like an air wrench for commercial purposes in a residential area I can understand the dismay; zoning exists for a reason. Not sure what sort of laws applying in his state in the US, but it's pretty easy to pass the threshold of "Carrying on a business" here in Australia. That said, my neighbour in the duplex is a qualified mechanic who tinkers with his cars, and my next door neighbour (landlord) also tinkers with his race cars - I don't have an issue with either, and they appear to be a hell of a lot closer in proximity than the properties in the video; mind you, they don't have what appears to be fully equipped mechanic workshops.

Yet these women insist that they know the law better than the people enforcing it and keep spending time and money harassing him over it.

Particularly military wives on HoA boards. Yeah, I'm sure the fact that your husband is a Captain matters to somebody, but I really don't think that you are entitled to live vicariously through your husbands rank, even if that rank meant anything out here in the civy world. Even military folks seem hate them, because so many of them act like they own the base they are on, and some of them try to insist that people salute them. If I had to name the group most predisposed to being bigoted, racist, homophobic, bible thumping, entitled, busybody shits, it would be military wives without a shadow of a doubt. They have made up by far and away the majority of the batshit crazy neighbors my friends and family have lived next to.
its incredible how much this video angered me, how is it even possible he has to pay up 25k to defend himself from baseless accusations? what if he didn't have that kind of money
tbh for shit like this lawyer fees should be paid for by the accuser
I really hope he wins, he seems like a great person in contrast to the other party, not to mention his garage is dope as shit.
We dealt with someone like this at my parent's house, my snide joke was mostly just because this video made me all agitated thinking about this. She tried to stop us from building our house over similarly bullshit accusations of "not being up to code". She tried to use her connections in city hall (of our pissant little city, lol) to get us shut down but the planning and zoning duders said we were okay too. When we put up a retaining wall to make sure our house didn't crumble or drain poorly into our neighbor's yard (not even hers) she tried to have it shut down because we didn't have a permit. She confronted the mason building our fence, but he was not taking her shit and literally told her to "shut up and let me get back to my damn work. go do something better with your time". Crazy bitch was complementing us on how pretty our house and wall looked while trying to shut it down, too. This is an extremely condensed version of the story as well, our house was abandoned after the market crash for 2 yrs when the builder folded, and we bought it at auction as a foreclosure and spent a year finishing it. She was there. the. whole. damn. time. Our final petty act of revenge involved a fence (fences make great neighbors). Our house is on the edge of a bluff overlooking the city, and its quite the view. We built an 8ft tall fence along the property line between our house and two neighbors (who had tried to shut us down too) and then dropped it to 4ft for the other neighbors that had been nice to us. Completely removed their view of the city, but obviously left it intact for our not-bitchy neighbors :v: I just don't get it though. The poor guy in this video looks and sounds a bit defeated, as if he's at a loss as to why someone would ever do this. Its completely petty, completely retarded, and I hope the ruling ends well for him and that the indiegogo campaign helps him out. Seems like a guy who deserves it.
(fences make great neighbors)
I love hostile neighbors so much, really makes you feel at home. I've had a crazy assholish neighbor at most of the places I've lived and have a number of stories, but yours reminds me of a client I once had. I remember someone hired me to do a project a number of years ago, where it'd be a shadow study. Didn't explain much, I thought it might have been so they could plan their own building permit like we usually saw in residential projects, but it turned out that their next door neighbor was building a second floor addition to their house. She somehow managed to get the blueprints for the addition so she knew exactly what was being built, and was not having any of it. (in hindsight, likely acquired through legal threats) The woman was trying to stop this, and it's no exaggeration, because the new height of the roof would block all of the sunlight coming into two windows on the dining room side of her house in the morning. Mind you, when we visited her house to have the meeting to explain this and get references, we sat in the dining room, and the sunlight was 95% obscured by the massive trees looming over her entire neighborhood, only getting that kind of random speckling of light. So (begrudgingly) I did an animation of the sun/shadow path, accurate to her home's exact geolocation and orientation, laid over a capture out of google maps. One for every month of the year to account for the change in the sun's altitude in the sky. Despite the houses being RELATIVELY close (it was a standard american suburb with bigger custom homes), the house's shadow didn't touch her house at ALL with the addition. The sun rose far enough in front of her house that light shone through the whole way at dawn, and as the sun climbed and leaned along the sky, the neighboring house's shadow just kind of skirted through the grass near its base before her own house's shadow overtook that face of the building. Realistically the trees pretty much eat everything at noon anyways. she asked us to 'change it' to show a 'worst case scenario'. Lady I don't think it's going to be a problem anymore if earth's orbital axis gets knocked out of alignment Sent a bill and said we've completed the deal. Think we had to send a few bills and a legal threat to get our money
While we are on the story side of shitty neighbors - this just happened yeaterday Short and sweet - some jackass complained about me speeding in our neighborhood. Described my vehicle make and year. Said I was doing it in the neighborhood. Its bullshit. It's 10mph and I meet that, considering I live right next to the gate of our complex, and have no reason to speed. Worst part is the community chick who called just took their word for it and had an attitude over the phone. People have nothing better to do, and this video proves people suck and are hateful nowadays.
this guys not gonna lose he's got the internet on his side now
In a way this reminds me of the time I had to do a public works project to get my Eagle Scout. I decided to build some notice boards at the entrances to this park/trail tons of people used all the time. These people who lived next to the entrance to one entrance (by that I mean it'a across the street and obscured by trees and shrubs and shit and no fucking way can they see it) decided to protest it. Their reason? It will attract gangs. Yes one small notice board is going to attract one of the MANY GANGS (we're in an upper middle class neighborhood, there are none) After like a whole good few months I got the backing of the park authority who sent them a letter pretty much telling them to shut the fuck and I have full rights to build on the property When we were building it, we'd see them occasionally stepping outside and peering over the bushes to stare at us while they whispered stuff between one another. Since then the trees and shrubs have died and they have full view of the nice ass notice board I built. Suck my dick
These are the worst type of people. When I was a little kid, our neighbors called the police on us because we didn't mow our lawn and they said we were violating a city ordinance by not having the weeds cut to the proper height. Another separate neighbor called the police because we had a towable trailer (like 6ft long) parked in the driveway overnight. There are some people that are just desperate for excitement in their dull, meaningless lives. We find it's easiest to mug people and sell drugs when there is a notice board available. Before we started hanging around notice boards we were just wandering aimlessly asking people if they wanted to buy weed, now we run most of the southwestern United States.
Fucking NIMBYs, man. Wish miserable old hags like these would die off already. It's his property, his rules. He's not harming anyone or making excessive noise, I mean for fuck's sake the guy's using a wheelchair, it's a hell of a lot easier having it on his own doorstep than going through all the hassle of travelling to and from an additional property which would cost even more money. "We will take it all the way to the supreme court." Honestly the US legal system is bullshit and needs to be changed. People shouldn't have to fork out thousands for legal fees just to defend themselves from every petty inch of bullshit like this. Hope these rules lawyering NIMBYs get their shit slapped both physically and legally. Whiney old cunts need to learn to shut the hell up and mind their own business instead of shitting on the other people for the sake of "MUH NEIGHBOURHOOD".
I remember having neighbors like these a long time ago. They tried to get the city to fine us because we stained our wood fences and deck to make them look a bit nicer, and it apparently didn't match the streets fences after. They kept coming to our house asking us to stop staining it even though it was our house and didn't belong to an HOA, and said they'd get the city if we didn't. In the end the city just said "lol fuck that" and ignored them or something, and they pissed off. But the moral is these kinds of people are extremely god damn obnoxious. If you need to ruin peoples lives by trying to sue or fine them over petty stuff, then idk what to tell you. It'd be different if this guys shop was absolutely unsafe, and had multiple violations of codes, but that's not the case. This guy has an awesome shop, and I wish I had a shop like his, these ladies need to leave the man alone. Hopefully this guy will win the suit.
Much as this seems like a cunt move... Do you know how maddening it is when you want to sit out on your patio on a summer afternoon, and instead you have to listen to your neighbor's power tools?

This is just so fucking stupid and petty, are you really sinking 40 grand into this because you just don't want this guy to enjoy life? With that money, you could have just built yourself a fence to wall off sight and sound. Hell you probably could have built your own garage.
