• Any good spots in the Chicago area or south suburbs?

Me being from the city I haven't gone too many places, mostly because the good places are in extremely bad neighborhoods. SO I was wondering if there's any real good spots in the DT areaaround Reggies Rock Room or just in the south suburbs. Or at least direct me to a site where people can tell me about this stuff. Thanks FP.
Rockford is full of abandoned buildings to explore, I recommend the amerock building. 13 stories with a really nice view from the roof. The garage door with the fences around it is open just pull it up. Watch for hobos and birds, they will get you.
Birds are known to attack around there?
Birds are known to attack around there?
no its this building the top 4 floors have become over run by birds. I don't know if they intentionally attack you in there, but it sure seems that way. It is definitely worth checking out tho. It's warming up again I might go thru with a camera at some point. edit: actually now that I think about it that building was just sold by the city to be turned into apartments. It might not be a good idea to go there, but believe me Rockford is not short on abandoned buildings. There is some very cool things to see indeed!
Huh I might check it out if I can.
I would recommond dixie square mall in Harvey, or whatever is left of it. I think it is being torn down in stages. Also would recommond going to Pullman, just outside of Roseland. Currently parts abandoned, but may be converted to a national park and be preserved. Looking to venture a little south-east? Check out downtown Gary, there are plenty of abandoned houses and a couple high-rise flats. Do not miss the abandoned southshore railway station in Gary! Got to be careful around there because it is a bad area and stick to the daytime. Same goes for Harvey and Pullman.

I would never be caught dead walking in there, even in the daytime!
