So this is what happens when DOG-GY and I get together and he secretly records me. The song is not mine. It's "Closer" by Dido. Comments? Consructive criticism? Smart-ass remarks? Oh, and yeah. I am totally aware that I'm a chick. No need to tell me.
1st post also that's me rite thar in the video.
Nevermind she just told me I'm upbanned POSTING ON MAIN ACCOUNT NOW. Video is still awesome :buddy: [editline]07:44PM[/editline]
Oh, and yeah. I am totally aware that I'm a chick. No need to tell me.
Wait...what?
I expected to hear Closer by Nine Inch Nails, but good nonetheless!
thanks. :3
- Well, you get two points for being female, but other than that it kinda sucked. Edit: Actually, after listening to it again I really think you might want to have a doctor check out your vocal chords, they don't sound healthy. - Sorry, I couldn't help it ;). Not bad, not bad. Wish I could hear the guitar a little more though.

Also, I don't see how pretending her "vocal chords aren't healthy" is funny. And I'm not just saying that because she's my girlfriend. It was kind of dumb.
The guitar is a bit quiet, and too much of the song sounds like whispering. You have a good voice, use it more.
Pretty good. Only thing that annoyed me a bit was your singing sounded a tiny bit nasally, but it may just be me. Also, guitar was a bit too quiet.
would be nicer if i could hear the guitar more was a little quiet
I expected to hear Closer by Nine Inch Nails, but good nonetheless!
i would rather she did this you're not bad, you need a bit of vocal work, but you have the ability. work on getting the right pitch and hitting the right notes. [editline]11:30PM[/editline] actually the more I listen the more i think you need a lot of practice singing.

I can't set up both microphones and tried to get a good balance but failed. There was one spot I found off pitch but other than that it was good, I though. (Also her voice was a bit out the day of because she usually hits higher notes in that song) Can you go into further detail on what she needs to work on? She's entering a local talent contest and I'm sure she would appreciate the C&C. And don't think I'm viewing her subjectively, I'm not.
Thank you guys for the criticism. I seriously need it. /serious
oh, oh i'm sorry. no you're right. she's perfect and should never change a thing or improve!
Uhh what are you talking about? I asked you to go into more depth about your comment, that's all. And I disagreed with you saying that a lot of it was off pitch, because although there were some spots that were, and one part that was way too low, most of it was like I said "pitch perfect". I don't really see how you got "she's perfect and should never change a thing or improve" from what I posted, but alright. It sounds like you have something in your throat. Grötmanglare
pitch perfect is a bold claim, and frankly while she isn't bad, she's far from 'pitch perfect'.
I said many parts were pitch perfect, and that was true. Meaning that if I double clicked on the note in Melodyne, which automatically snaps it to the nearest note, it wouldn't seem to move or would only move a pixel or two. Never said the whole thing was. I don't know if you had a bad day or something, but you took it pretty out of context. I'm not angry if I sound it. Perfectly calm here and about to play me some TF2.
It sounds like you have something in your throat. Grötmanglare
i probably did. damn cold. -facedesk-
It sounds like you have something in your throat.
Trying so hard not to post a smugface at that.
expected the nine inch nails song I am dissapoint
Well you've definitely got the singing voice, some people sound awkward especially when holding a note but I didn't really hear any of that from the video. You could strengthen your voice up though, project more, that way you won't get that bit of weakness on higher notes (heard it most on "feEEEL"). Good stuff though.
thanks for the advice. :]
2:38 raped my ears
I was surprised that you didn't suck. That said, the only good thing Dido ever did was create something Eminem could sample. Sing something else next time.
I said many parts were pitch perfect, and that was true.
Not even close, champ. I'm seeing a clear drift on nearly every note. Anywhere between four and fifty cents up (mostly sharp) or down consistently, not counting the obviously off spots thanks to her warbling. http://www.dump.no/files/556800ff76ad/Didolol.mp3 To translate that into something useful for the lass: You're close to being in tune consistently. Try singing with less of a flourish and more effort solely toward hitting pitches. You might want to practice in front of a tuner as well, and just practice bending your voice up and down by the most minute increments you can.
So when are you going to sing the one by Nine Inch Nails, again?
Too nasal.
When is the one by Nine inch nails coming? I thought it sounded good :)
