I find dead malls to be absolutely fascinating. All of the money that went into these massive projects just to fail and become husks from a bygone era.
Thheee MAAAAALLLL!
Whenever I go anywhere new that looks questionable, I joke with my little brother saying, "Hey everyone, it's Dan Bell and we're here at the Abandoned <place>." Then I make up a silly backstory and everything in the guy's voice.
These places are creepy, depressing and peaceful all at once. I love that hard cut from the music video thing to the black and white footage at the beginning there.

sentences?

Yeah you go from Saved by the Bell to The Road in .2 seconds.
Seeing all these dead malls is a little depressing. All the work, money and energy that goes into making them, and making them work only to end up going belly up and bulldozing it all.
Dan needs to do more creepy videos. I've watched everything on his Youtube channel and I keep wanting more.
those b&w shots of the skylights... i don't know. Reminds me of when I was real little, looking out the big windows in classrooms. it was so bright out there, and it made the grass and the leaves really pretty. I used to read a lot back then. I might go to the library tomorrow.

Good uses for dead malls that I've seen:
- Community centers
- Office space (Google has done this!)
- Land (after demolition)
Bad uses for dead malls that I've seen:
- Frog shelter
- Dead body storage
- Space wasting
People ought to turn the mall into a useful building. It doesn't have to be for shopping, just not for frogs or dead bodies.
Did he get footage from before the mall was destroyed from years back or something?

He did a video before the mall closed a year back. Reading up on it, the mall closed last year and the final exterior department stores closed this year. The mall was torn down a few months ago.

It is sad to see stuff like this go. History of trends and culture of past eras abandoned and demolished.
To me, a demolished mall is way better than a standing, unused mall. Trends die, and humanity moves on. It's natural. What isn't is letting a building sit there rotting away for forever.
