Hey guys. I've created an IRC channel for FL Studio users. I though people could ask for help, talk about their ideas, show off their stuff in there.
If someone's interested I'd glad if you would join us
irc.freenode.net #fruityloops
I'm ok with this. Joined with nick Tirde :v:
Just make a musicians gig room channel instead.

There is already one.
Called #music
But that isnt like for people who make music
[editline]4th October 2011[/editline]
thats for people who like music in general
[editline]4th October 2011[/editline]
And liking music and making music are separate things
[editline]4th October 2011[/editline]
I hate music
What do you guys make on FL?
Because lately everyone starts making dubstep and nothing else!
Some mellow tunes and whatnot. By the way, is Soundcloud down for you guys? I can't seem to go on at the moment.
No it doesn't work man I've been trying all night not working
check this site for more info

This is my latest tune. Kind of a slow electronic song with inspirations from heavy metal and stringed symphonies.

I make Dubstep can't show anything now Soundcloud is down!
But when its back up I'll post something :)
I only use sytrus and make all my own presets :P
Download some other ones all the Fl Synths sound so cheap
try FM8 thats a really good one and Albino 3 that one is really great to :)

This is one of my tunes :) its Dubstep but really deep dubstep. Let me know what you think
Once you understand some of the things that make other synths sound good, you realize sytrus can do pretty much all of that in someway or another.
Also I listened to your song. It's got a lot of potential. It feels a bit too... repetitive. Maybe add some detail notes in there to give it some variation. Also I feel like I want to tweak most of your synths :P ... it seems lacking atmosphere... especially in the "barely audible" beginning part...

There's a lot sytrus can't do, I really recommend using something else anyway
I recently got massive and I'm in love, I don't know how to use half of it yet though! It's always exciting playing with new synths.

I don't use Massive. Don't like it at all FM8 and Albino 3 is what I use now :)

I used sytrus when I started producing. But changed really quick. Because it sounds so cheap...
All FL synths sound cheap.
Harmless anyone?

What are some examples of things sytrus can't do?
(Purely educational of course... I'm all for learning how to make better noises.)
[QUOTE=HazeFyer23;32640906]Harmless anyone?[/QUOTE]
I used it for one tune... but also sounds cheap ...

Modulate an LFO with an lfo for an example. I'm not saying sytrus is bad in any way, Im saying there are just things it cant do. And things that are unnecessarily hard to do with it.

Really, They don't sound cheap by nature. Tbh I like harmless myself. It's good for plucky stuff.

Is that what you mean? I hadn't even thought about trying that before... cool idea!
Yes sytrus does make some things rather difficult. You are 9001% correct there! :P
I actually meant the lfo speed. That is a cool patch though.
But yeah, there are some things sytrus can't do. But it is indeed a perfectly legit synth. I was just recommending you to at least try something else, like Massive. It's a really fun one

Aight. That was far more difficult to do than it should have been!

Sort of a hack I suppose, but that is technically correct. By the definition of an lfo anyways :P.
Edit: Were on topic! Sort of! This is all about fl studio stuff :D also i changed my nickname from chordacle to xiohexia on irc so nobody gets confused. :P
here's some recent DnB i made in fl studio, I mostly use sytrus for synths and subs as well, one of the bass layers for this was made in massive though

Wow that is actually pretty good! The mix feels off a bit though. And at some points a bit repetitive. But overall sounds pretty darned good.

Sorry but the production value is very low. the snare is not good for a DnB tune such as the kick and the synths sound to cheap :)
Just trying to help here! :) I really don't get why you all use FL Synths...
In Belgium no one uses them
