The park has been under construction for about 3 years now, mostly because they had to demolish what was there, build a museum, and build a park on top of that.

1. Insurance companies, the City, construction companies and architects were all fighting each other over how the buildings were going to be rebuilt. Finally got settled in early '08.

2. Thousands of people died there.

3. Probably some stands for selling newspapers and hotdogs? It's NYC, after all.

I've been down there, they are making progress but really slowly. I can't see this being done for another decade.

Can anyone explain why it takes twenty years estimated to build a cement park with some buildings? Any other project this would be done in a month and a half.
