• Fan-made Half-Life 3 Trailer

This is more of a test than a trailer. Not really a trailer. I made this a while back when I discovered Blender added a 3D tracker, and after being pleased with my Kinect Motion-capture tests. All the animations were motion captured by me, of myself, in my room. Extracting all the models and textures without breaking them in Blender was a pain as well.(There are some render errors of white blobs on the models) Couldn't find a high-poly model of Gordon Freeman either. All the shots were just me running around with a camera in my neighborhood. Mind the toilet humor. Was just bad, was hoping for SFM.
PLOT OF EP 3!!!! combine walk around on public streets, gman is in front of a garage :OOO
the effects are ok, but why call it HL3 trailer. You obviously haven't put any effort into making it look like a believable trailer. Backyard setting, random corpse with combine in the middle of the street...jesus
If you watched it to the end you'd know it wasn't serious.
Aww... I wanted SFM. :(
The Gman looked drunk walking out of the garage.
This thread would be better if the title wasn't stupid. The video is cool, it looks like fun. The camera tracking is surprisingly good for pretending you're in an earthquake.
the 3D motion tracking is off, and the lighting is off a lot, but I'm sure you know that, the motion capture was pretty decent though.
It was kind of just supposed to be a test, but I decided to name it that because it just ended up looking into a trailer. Live action test, I guess.
invest into a tripod, and your videos will actually be watchable.
I honestly hate trailers that show no information what-so-ever. Even if it's fan made, most of us know some little info about Half Life 3, like what type of climate area Half Life 3 is most likely going to take place. [sub] Artic climate[/sub] And if the trailer wasn't meant to be serious, it still was pretty bad.
the fart caught me off-guard and i laughed my ass off

So yes, it was pretty bad. A more appropriate title would have been better. [editline]25th September 2012[/editline]
the effects are ok, but why call it HL3 trailer. It shouldn't have been a trailer.
Was just bad, was hoping for SFM.
Give him some credit for doing something, i'd love to see you do better by filming outside and editing them in.
It's another example of facepunch griping at fucking anything. Thought the effect of game models to real life was well done, that and smell the asses

Despite the fact that it wasn't serious (farting...?) you have no idea how to direct.
dont know why but when the combines were walking around this song popped in my head. And plus t-sonar avatar fits with the song.
invest into a tripod, and your videos will actually be watchable.
What's the point of a camera tracking test if the camera is static
That's right.
