The 75-59 vote was a critical step for the measure, which would allow same-sex weddings beginning this summer. It’s a startling shift in the state, where just six months earlier voters turned back an effort to ban them in the Minnesota Constitution. The state Senate plans to consider the bill Monday and leaders expect it to pass there too. Gov. Mark Dayton has pledged to sign it into law.
Party in the Gay Chat thread in 5 minutes?
I sometimes forget that my state is actually quite left-leaning when living in Bachmann Land Minnesota. Oh man I cannot wait to see how pissed some of the people in my community will be when this gets signed in.
Good for them!
It looks like a lot of states are starting to follow through with this.

More progress! Go America! Minnosota was obviously going to enact for this decision pretty quickly since it's so progressive compared ot other states , maybe we might start seeing some States in the south allowing this in a few decades.
Good for them.
this is great! though kinda sad that this means their house has 59 dipshits
the irony here is only about 6 months ago (in minnesota) there was a marriage amendment on the (election) ballot got shot down by only a 2% margin. glad our house is smarter than our citizens

Cause if i remember right it was a snide attempt at defining marriage as between a man and a woman only.
Good day to be a Minnesotan.
Oh boy they are creeping in on us Dakotans. I can't wait to see this one kid I know freak out about it on Facebook. Something about the government's "anti-Christian" agenda or something like that. :v:
Now let's see north carolina sign a similar bill Oh that's right! They won't.
The district my town is in ended up being against the amendment. Fucking old people. Glad to see It finally passed.
I know this has been said a million times. America is not a christian country. It is not affiliated with christianity or any religion for that matter Marriage under the US law is a reduction in taxes and other benefits to help families. These bills will not affect straight married couples in any single way I don't see why this is still a problem.

Their whole mindset revolves around them being Christian. I mentioned this in an earlier post, but some people literally believe the government wants to destroy Christianity. Which is laughable at best.
