People need to understand there are novelty pipes and smoking pipes. Novelty pipes are sold everywhere and since they are sold "for novelty purposes only" they were not made to be smoked out of. They had no safety guidelines when making them, and no over site for the materials used. That doesn't stop vendors from selling them to people that don't know better.
Please don't smoke out of plastic. Be careful young ents when making pipes. Choose the material well. Don't use masking tape or scotch tape. Don't use plastic pieces. Almost every glue I see being used in homemade pieces out there is not meant to be heated, have dangerous chemicals in them, and frankly, not meant to be in a damn bong.
There is data for both sides when using Tin-foil so I won't get into that.
Don't use treated aluminum. There is plenty of information out there for the problems that can arise.
Do not use those god damn pop can pipes. Aside from the thin coat of plastic, paint and metal you are inhaling, its just plain dangerous. Not to mention a waste of weed. This is something that for what ever reason is considered normal and acceptable. Its not.
I'm seeing a lot of people smoking out of clay pipes here. Dust and taste issues aside, many use a glaze or are chemically treated before or after kilning. This too can be dangerous.
I've been seeing home made wood pipes. It took a skilled crafter, and a lot of work. But many trees that are not grown for this purpose are sprayed and grown with dangerous chemicals and poisons. Its illegal in many states to sell non-regulated wood as fire wood because of the fumes and toxins involved. They are treated with pesticides for years. To use said wood as a pipe is beyond bad for your health.
Today there was a post of someone smoking bible paper. Really. Now, I can't be the only one that understands you don't smoke printer ink. Which, mind you is liquid plastic polymer. To say that is a health risk would be an understatement.
Stop driving around with copious amounts of weed. Don't smoke it in the car while driving about. If you have to transport it put it in your trunk or in a hide-a-box. Don't carry around more than you need, Don't bring all your pipes every time you go somewhere.
If you are [10] then don't drive. I know we all have different tolerances and driving skills, and that everyone is unique and has different ways to grade their high. But if you are too baked to drive, then DON'T. Just wait an hour. I can not stress that enough. Just because the stigma is on drunk driving doesn't mean we can't make mistakes too.
I want to look out for you guys and tough love is the best way I know how. So, KNOCK IT OFF! BE SAFE! Don't fall into that stereotype of not caring or being too dumb to watch out for your health.
tl;dr: Smoke with glass, papers, or vaporize it. Hell, make food with it if you can. Just use common sense when smoking or enjoying the culture. Stop congratulating dangerous behavior. Don't go to dangerous places alone. Don't buy from shady people, don't drive over a [X] (arbitrary number), Be careful on the forums, etc. Basically just safety first guys. :)

Take it easy chum, heavyweight =/= being fat.
But yeah, you are skinny fat meaning you have little muscle to hide those ribs and fat stored on your belly; this depends on diet, genetics and how often you work out or lead that sedentary lifestyle. If you're just skinny you should also be able to see your abs.
