In an interview recently conducted with an ex Reddit moderator, details have emerged that suggests initial speculation on content manipulation within Reddit.com for the purpose of profit for 3rd parties to be not only true, but common place in practice among certain members of its moderation team. Although the source of these accusations has declined to comment on specific cases of such behaviour, IndieJuice has been informed that content manipulation for 3rd party profit is part of a much larger issue within Reddit’s internal posting and user relationship structure. The extent to which is currently unknown.
http://indiejuice.tv/moderating-front-page-internet/ Other links Soundcloud http://soundcloud.com/user613982511/recording-xm-2014 10:30 "I was told if I released this I would be marked as someone who was helping in the distribution of child pornography on Reddit." Wtf is with the reddit admins? Are they trying to kill off their site? First ignoring SRS even though they openly doxx and vote brigade. After that, during the beginning of Quinngate shadow banning left and right and now this?
I was under the impression it was common knowledge Reddit is infested with shills.
as far as i know, reddit is a free website, they can ban whoever they want
are they refering to that furry thingy that was going on a while back where a mod was clearly abusing his power?
i like reddit but the admins are shit r/candidfashionpolice still exists, which is creepshots 2.0
are they refering to that furry thingy that was going on a while back where a mod was clearly abusing his power?
I think that was on Twitch.
What the fuck happened to the internet? It's suddenly so serious business it hurts. "Reddit corruption", here's two words I never expected to see together
What the fuck happened to the internet? It's suddenly so serious business it hurts. "Reddit corruption", here's two words I never expected to see together
agreed. also with the "gamergate" crap, lmao.
Important note: admins =/= moderators on reddit. The admins manage everything that happens on the site, whereas moderators manage only a single subreddit (or multiple if a person mods multiple subreddits). Don't use both terms interchangeably - they have two different meanings when it comes to dealing with reddit.
i think reddit is in need of a massive cleaning right now
are they refering to that furry thingy that was going on a while back where a mod was clearly abusing his power?
No, that was twitch, where a supermodel added his boyfriends fursuit thingie as an emoticon for all of twitch. I think the mod's name was Horror, which is pretty apt. When the shitstorm happened he and his cronies started banning anyone who spoke out about it, including shutting down whole streams with no warning or explanation.
i like reddit but the admins are shit r/candidfashionpolice still exists, which is creepshots 2.0
The reddit admins literally do not care about the morality of anything on their site as long as it's legal, they allow subreddits like that, along with /r/beatingwomen, /r/picsofdeadkids, /r/rapingwomen is still around too, and there's also /r/theredpill which actively advocates raping women Then there's the neonazi and psycho subreddits like /r/greatapes and /r/anarchocapitalism (it isn't just that I think anarchocapitalists are scum, they talk about killing police and people who are against them a lot), /r/conspiracy, even something as innocuous as /r/worldnews is inundated with anti-semitism, sexism, and just general bigotry Reddit is a fucking shitheap of the internet, I only go there for the Two Best Friends Play subreddit and /r/carporn for wallpapers.
details have emerged that suggests initial speculation on content manipulation within Reddit.com for the purpose of profit for 3rd parties to be not only true, but common place in practice among certain members of its moderation team
rofl they're taking this so seriously it's ridiculous it's like they think they're investigating some sort of gigantic criminal scheme
as far as i know, reddit is a free website, they can ban whoever they want
Reddit loves to think they're the bastion of free speech, which makes it all the more hypocritical
Biggest scandal of our lifetime.
Nuke Reddit off the internet especially SRS please.
Biggest scandal of our lifetime.
Internet-wise it's actually pretty big.
The administration of Reddit is among the many reasons why I can't stand going there anymore

http://www.reddit.com/r/picsofdeadkids This exists, but should you dare argue feminism, or god forbid post nekkid celebrities The site is run by fucking pedo creeps. I also forgot to mention, this is one of the creepy circle jerk subreddits. There are hundreds, if not thousands more.

Example of censorship. The one post you see is me, however it is only visible to my account. It was removed just like the others, but they never tell you or indicate its removal.
Reddit's upvote/downvote based system, with the highest rated comments on top, sort of encourages the famous reddit hivemind. Forums with a chronologically sorted posting system (facepunch, 4chan) encourage dissenting opinions and discussion more than reddit does. Though 4chan isn't where I'd go for real discussion. It's hard to tell what isn't an ironic anti-Semitic swipe, and what a real anti-Semitic swipe is. I prefer facepunch.
Why don't people stop bitching about reddit being horrible and just stop using reddit all together??
as far as i know, reddit is a free website, they can ban whoever they want
Reddit is a free website that prides itself on being free as long as you follow guidelines. They've then said that they wish to be a "Government" or some shit following /r/TheFappening. You can have shitty subreddits that are completely obscene and grotesque or racist, however, if you decide to go against reddit's little pet subreddits they'll immediately shadowban you. It's fucked. Really, really fucked.

Who cares? Reddit is a place to look at shit, Be it news articles or a fucked up subreddit, why does the internal drama even matter
dang i got shadowbanned for talking about it oh GOD what will i do without the cesspool known as reddit
