Isn't bringing in hawks a better choice? Isn't that how airports do it?

Presumably this is cheaper.
Pigeons are a menace near here, and theres loads of companies that specialise in just sniping them with air rifles.
I have done similar jobs for my father and grandfather through out most of my life. If my dad's company ever needs someone to clean out their yards of pigeons or mice, I tend to go in with my AirHawk or whatever air gun they offer. Not even gonna lie, shooting pigeons and rats is a very, very fun type of sport. They are fast, hard to find sometimes, and you cannot use a shotgun.
Most companies that do hire people to do this type o' thing usually will pay you about .50 cents per bushell of pigeon tail feathers. Overall if you are using normal hunting pellets, you are only expending roughly six to eight cents per round, so on a good day you can make anywhere from $7.50 to $50.00 in profits depending on how the company is with your work. The prices tend to go up with the more you kill.
I always felt jobs like this are the most honest forms of work.

they said they switch between hawks and air rifles
wow these guys r so badass
Pigeons are a nuisance. There's a reason why they're nicknamed "Flying Rats".

Here's a list of things that pigeons fuck up: http://www.birdbarrier.com/installer/damage.php
Fuck pigeons and anyone who feeds them.
I'm actually surprised that the U.K is ok with this. Anything to get rid of pests I suppose.
What do they do afterwards when the pigeon is dead?

Doesn't seem like they have much of a choice. I'm not that surprised though, since they're only pellet rifles, and these people seem to know exactly what they're doing and have high regards to safety. It seems like the best, most efficient choice honestly, when all the options are weighed.

Yeah, very much so; really the only other "viable" option is poisoning them; but that's an absolutely terrible idea, because often times the poison gets into the predators (I have no idea what is native in the UK), but things like owls, cats, usually end up getting severely damaged populations.

Until the pigeons are hunting you, it's not a sport.
What the fuck, why would anyone kill pigeons? I mean, I understand that Americans hate them, but here, eliminating pigeons is as strange and disgusting as eating dogs for both of us.

Yes and? Pigeon poo, big deal. Nobody died of it yet.
Are there jobs like this in America? I've never heard of this before. I don't know what it's like in that particular area, but do people flip out often about them walking around with guns? That cop seemed to just casually stroll by them and ask what they were doing.
My town used to have a huge crow problem but ever since they've done a major hunting party once when I was a kid they've been gone ever since.
Quite scary to see how humans can change animal populations just like that.
My favorite air pellet pest hunter is Ted's Holdover. He even makes sure to make a quick kill if possible.

The crows probably learned to avoid your town, they are pretty smart.

When you are wearing an orange vest, people tend to question you less. I swear, people's commonsense goes out the window like a goddamn deer when they see the color orange.
The way the guy walks reminds me of Pietre from the show Utopia.
