I'm quite interested in seeing where this goes. He's great at nailing all the little details. There's a Google doc the people who are investigating this are using as well as a Discord. Be careful if you're looking into it as it's currently theorised to be linked with some very dark stuff such as child abuse and other assorted horribleness.
This is pretty neato. It looks like he made the game all by himself. His commentary gets a bit annoying from time to time though.
Been following this since the start, it's shaping up to be quite neat. However, you can tell that this isn't from a PS1 game, the polygons aren't quite warped enough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqw2HMUrNiA (not embedding cause I don't want to murder mobile users further)

It's still really damn good though, even looks like it's been recorded in the way you'd expect.
Heres the Google Doc some people are trying to solve it are using: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12qs0sU5YdI5Uk5qLrb7t2H_0manVivVKIPI5EAtznkg/edit

Why do I always find creepy shit at night
this is creepy and cool as fuck reminds me of Arcane Kids' Bubsy 3D and Sonic Collection
Love shit like this, last thing I remember executed in manner like this was BEN DROWNED. Can anyone suggest more things such as this one?

Could have fooled me, to be honest. Nice to see that the guy voicing it even makes fun of creepypastas all the while. Got right into the creepy stuff right away, but I feel like it's being aimless right now. I'll give the series a few more watches to catch anything.
Nice style and execution this guy has got, really really original with so much potential and very creepy, with the Let's Play kind of thing. My childhood started growing at the early 2000s, daddy got a Dreamcast, PS2 and CRT TVs, so having grown with these sounds and looks, this feel hits very close to me, even more if we talk about the unsettling stuff, like sound, the low poly, pointy figures, low contrast with that 'whitened' darkness, fuzzy look composite/analog video gives. my game has a likely retro horror feeling too and it's great to see this kind of artstyle get going, even if this is a video series.
I love PS1 games, but because of the terrible draw-distance in them and the weird fog effect used by most games to help with that, they have always felt claustrophobic. That makes them perfect for something like this.
I need more of this
Oh man I'm weak with scary things like this but the curiosity is overwhelming
If you're on the fence about spending an hour watching 1-6, spoilers be damned, start with 6 cause it's a work of art. Hope for more.
Oh man I'm weak with scary things like this but the curiosity is overwhelming
If it helps you get over the fence, there are no jumpscares anywhere (at least so far)
I think I'll keep an eye out for more of this, I'd love to see where this is heading. After watching this I checked out the Newmaker-story which this game seems to reference, and holy crap is this some fucked-up shit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candace_Newmaker
I have a dream to one day sell a real, full game like this. I love this stuff so much, and the subtle build up is always the best part.
After watching this I checked out the Newmaker-story which this game seems to reference, and holy crap is this some fucked-up shit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candace_Newmaker
So they were released from prison just a few days ago.

There's plenty of polygon weirdness going on, especially near the bottom edge of the screen. At around 3:15 in video 6, when the camera turns, watch the bottom of the screen.
Is there any schedule on when the next video is going to release?

Unless he's playing this on a bleem!Cast. That would be really awesome.
I love this kind of shit. It brings people together to find out what the fuck it means
assuming the game was made for this ARG i wonder why they tried to emulate one of the only consoles that's the hardest to accurately emulate like if it tried to seem like a PS2 game maybe people wouldn't have been so quick to realize it isn't real

Unless you're specifically looking for it its kind of hard to see the minor details he missed.
The dead giveaway is the smooth spherical lighting in the last 5 videos. Lighting like that could only be achieved with pixel-by-pixel shaders, which the Playstation didn't support. Lighting information had to be assigned per vertex, like so:
Also the lighting seems waaay too smooth. Where's the dithering?
Because it gives it a cool look and it's really well done. I won't deny it's very very cool because it is, but if you ever owned a PS1 i just wanted to point out that you would be able to tell the game is fake easily.
At the very least I think he managed to achieve the PS1 look from a nostalgic "looks better from your memory" perspective when it comes to PS1 games. Most of the time when people try to do fake PS1 recreations they end up looking more primitive 3D and looking worse than actual PS1 games. This one looks like a legit PS1 game inaccuracies aside and has most of the present tropes of some of the games that came out for it at the time. It's really believable too from a writing perspective in that so far most things shown are far fetched from what can be done in a early video game.
