http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-17622856
Tesco Value has been shelved. Its blue and white stripes have passed their sell-by date. The bargain brand has checked out. Instead the 20-year-old range is being replaced by a younger, brighter model with only a slightly different name, Everyday Value. Bosses say the "no frills" facelift is a step up in quality - none of the products will contain MSG, hydrogenated fats, artificial flavours or colours, or genetically modified ingredients - at no extra cost. But its predecessor will be fondly remembered as the range which transformed the bargain hunt for supermarket savings from an exercise in sifting through shelves for cut-price offers, to a process of scanning the aisles for colours and stripes.
Get your cards here http://www.code-d.com/tesco-cards/tesco-value-deepest-sympathy.pdf
Huh, apparently they updated the article eight hours ago for some reason.
I think what happened was this article (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-magazine-monitor-25025120) got posted today, which linked to the similar Tesco Value article. So then everybody clicked on it and now it's stuck in the "Most Read" section despite being over 18 months old.
I always try to buy the basic/value items if its for things like flour, beans, rice, veg etc. The only thing I do pay out for is meat.
.... And just another exploit scheme targeted at peoples short memory so they can stealthily raise the prices
