This doesn't look like any minecraft I've ever played.

IIRC they made that version themselves for testing the vive.

It's not supposed to be Minecraft, just a fun experiment.
I can't wait to get my own Vive so I can get jacked in and off.
IIRC they made that version themselves for testing the vive.
Pretty much, it started out as a quick Minecraft clone to try out the Vive but since it's so fun to play around with we'll be turning it into something that can be released.
Great vid. That track at the end looked sick! Not sure I could have handled it.
Haha wow, i am just impressed how incredibly excited and hyped they are to try out while the thing is actually nothing more but a tech demo at the moment :v:
I mean i have seen them play Rift games where people already spent months on developer for and this is by far the best Rift game/demo i have seen so far. Bravo Ziks :vrreact:
This just made me realize how awesome a Rust/Ark (bleh and even Minecraft) type game would be, if created/catered exclusively for VR from the start.
stepping down from a ladder when you cant see your feet must be pretty fucking scary when the headset is telling you that you're 100 feet in the air.

or fucking gmod
Is this one of the games included with that prototype codes that were being given out?
Is this one of the games included with that prototype codes that were being given out?
Nah, this is only available to people with Vive dev kits at the moment. There's not really much to do in it without a Vive yet.
imagine the news when a brutal or violent game comes out with vive support.
"stab a crazed psychopath with a rusty pipe which instantly kills him in this latest edition of a pathetic murder simulator. and swing your arms to carry out the act."
"Grab pieces of furniture and slam it into walls like a crazed cocaine riddled drug addict."
"complain that your kids are being desensitized even though you bought the game without checking it."
Now we can port in MR. BONES WILD RIDE.
I WANT TO JACK OFF MR. BONES WILD RIDE.

He mentions haptic feedback when placing blocks, what types do the controllers have? I've assumed the touchpads have the same thing the steam controller has, but does it also have shaking/rumblers akin to a 360 controller?
the TNT tossing makes me very excited for how spellcasting is going to be in action RPGs designed for this

Yeah they have the same touch pads as steam controllers, which can give a haptic pulse.

I really wish they would stop cutting the footage like that, back and forth, I would actually like to see the game for more than a few seconds :v:
This looks fun as fuck for a demo.

Here's an unedited video of me messing around with it:

I guess a more accurate name for it would be VRCT instead of chunks.
Chunks looks awesome for a prototype, I wonder where this will going.
I'm not a fan of Minecraft clones in general (there's too many) but I don't know why, I would love to see Chunks as the true Minecraft killer.

The roller coaster stuff is just to demonstrate the plugin system, it was make only with the tools any user can build plugins with. In principle someone could make their own RCT style gamemode, or they could make a tower defence game, a puzzle game, whatever they can think of really.

Heh the carts explode, there should be an option where they don't explode or deal no damage at all, or it might get annoying if you mess around.
Ziks, got any plans of developing this into something bigger? I don't mean like a while game but perhaps make it available on Facepunch Prototype or something?

I think Ziks answered your question above:
