This project dates all the way back from 2007, as you can see.
To summarize, JMEMantzel is a sort of engineer who builds practically everything he uses. Lives far out in the woods with nothing but solar power, his channel is filled to the brim with everything he's worked on by himself for his convenience(whether it be his own sawmill, workshop, HOUSE, several-mile road through the mountains TO his house, etc.) using mainly materials he's found or made himself.
But the most interesting of all is his dream of building a giant robot. So far it's a 70+ video project, but well worth the watch for those of you who enjoy working with your hands. He took a break on it a while back but recently started progress on the project again, and I felt it was worth sharing the series with Facepunch again, as the original thread is surely dead to the bowels of internet history.
I suggest you watch all the series before this video because it gives a bit of a rewarding feeling, but here is the first test drive of the project as well.

Update:
Unfortunately, Jaimie's kickstarter was only funded 1/3rd of the way of his $350,000 goal. On the bright side, his outdoor testing of the giant robot spider was an amazing success!

I've followed this man for almost 2 years. his videos are extremely interesting and bloody entertaining too!
You should all look into his Adventure builders basics too!

This guy is great. He's basically a "we can do these things. why shouldn't we do these things. why not make a giant robot?"
If the world worked the way this guy thought it'd be a much funner place to live.

Interesting. I haven't checked his recent stuff but that's pretty cool.
I think he's also doing a miniature version of the spider robot(see the "concept toy" in the first vid) to sell as a children's toy.

The machine god sure was benevolent enough to bless this man with the powers of an experienced tech-priest from the order of the adeptus mechanicus.
I remember a video where he burned his university diploma, feel the same way about those things.

Small bump for updates. He kinda lost some groove for the project during his other ventures but he's picking up.
I like the idea of the rotational core, but still kind of lost as to how he's gonna add lubrication.

He built a bridge and road?
Jesus christ if the world ever goes to shit or a zombie invasion happens this guy will survive everything that comes his way.His kids have one hell of a dad, talk about manly man.
What does he do for a living to get his food, car gas, and camera/equipment though?
I would entrust this man to make a zombie fort.

Given that free time, he must make and sell stuff. Also, I'm sure he gets some monetary sum for the "Attacknids" toyline he made.
[editline]3rd July 2013[/editline]
This sums up his living conditions:
