I'd rather wait for an official announcement rather than a poor google translation rumour.
can't be true i refuse that happens

Dice is swedish. The site is swedish. Plus, it sounds like something EA would do. And mirror's edge wasn't all that popular.
Wouldn't surprise me. Mirror's Edge didn't sell very well and as such EA would have no reason to give the okay to a sequel.
Mirror's Edge 2 better remove guns. I play Mirror's Edge to run and jump from cops like crazy, not to use weapons that make me as slow as a turtle and break the flow. Actually, just remove combat as a whole.
I got kinda bored halfway through of the first one but just finished the game just to finish it. Would any of you people actually pay $60 for a new Mirror's Edge game? I know I wouldn't.

In any case he just said that they put it on hold, it doesn't mean that they completely scrapped the idea. [editline]14th February 2011[/editline] Ok they did announce it, but still, it's just on hold.
If this is true my face is sad
:frown:
Damn. Mirrors edge is one of the few games that got a concept and done it right. I was really looking forward to a second. I hope this isn't true.
ME obviously didn't have enough modern warfare combat.
Aw fuck no. Now I'll have to stand the hand-holding in Brink.

The plot was sort of about it, the multiple paths was about it, and the choice to use weapons or not was about it. Not that it matters much anymore.

reposting my post, 'cause I think there's a huge need for different point of view than "wow ea sucks" in this thread
who said that dice's prototype was godlike? Maybe it sucked, maybe there were
issues with the learning curve, the difficulty, the narrative, and then there was no multiplayer either
You are all bandwaggoning on ea because you need something to whine about. I am very happy that they are ready to completely destroy their concept over if it isn't good enough instead of accepting it and releasing half-assed sequel to mirrors edge.
Presumably the extra development is going into Battlefield 3
I am now happy as fuck because this statement is awesome and you should take your heads out of your assholes.
quotes come from EA's statements.
Damn, first True Crime, and now this? Quit canning good games, goddammit!
There was going to be a Mirror's Edge 2?
The first one was mediocre so I can see why EA canned the second one.
I almost got a seizure from 1. Totally worth it.
I really didn't care for Mirrors Edge. The controls felt clunky compared to similar "parkour" games like the Assassins Creed series. The story was unimaginative and poorly told through esurance-commercial-style cutscenes. Even with their harshly contrasting color scheme some levels were difficult to navigate.
I still haven't completed Mirrors edge, the graphics were great though.
Damn... A shame. Mirror's Edge wasn't the most refined game out there, but it set down an AMAZING consept for a GREAT sequel. Kinda like Assassin's Creed 1. Not perfected, but could easily become great with a few improvements
Ahhh, I loved Mirror's Edge design and gameplay. If they just worked added more content and a better story, it'd be a classic.
The Mirror's Edge franchise has so much potential. I'm sure if they spent as much effort in ME2 as they did with Dead Space 2, they can make a great AAA quality game that can sell dozens of copies. Mirror's Edge is my favorite game of all time because of what it did right.
By the way guys, Mirrors Edge really wasn't a game for keyboard use. A controller is more suitable for a game like this.

Bah, glad they're not making a sequel. Didn't have any fun with Mirror's Edge.
They could at least provide a summary of the story. I was interested in it.
