this, real helmets have anti spalling on them which gives them a rough finish. The anti spalling keeps shrapnel from splintering off into other places, or keeps bullets from fragmenting.

Let me also add, they will have this cross weave texture inside or if the paint chips off and a serial number or such inside the helmet.
They are also heavy for a helmet and very uncomfortable.

Russian helmets can get kinda shiny, and also dont have as much of a texture applied to them.
