Hiya, Nitebomber51 here, I'm new to the whole Urban exploration business and I would like to get into it, as would my girlfriend, so I'm asking what is some gear that we would need and what are some good places for us to explore, generally close to home, We live in the south eastern suburbs, near westfield Knox City. If you have any interesting places to take a look at and what we gear we should grab, let me know, Many thanks, Nitebomber51
P.s Also If you're not from australia but have any advice on gear, that'd be great aswell, Thanks
If your in Melbourne, i haven't located the entrys yet but there are 3 bunkers near and around Flinders Street Station i know this because they show up listed in certain books.
Which books?
I call bullshit. There haven't been 'bunkers' since the 50's

You can believe what you read if you want, but most of it's heresay and bullshit. Any remaining subterranean cavities have been repurposed for utilities and the like. Like the massive air raid shelter under the reserve bank (visible in photos from the 40's found in the state library)
Mark Rawson is a total loon, the Northcote Army Tunnel was recently backfilled.
Foy and Gibson tunnel is tiny and just goes under smith st
There are none near Flinders st station, like you said in your first post though. The internet does not have the right answers I'm afraid
Its been a long time from i was last there however there use to be a pub opp St Cross (Lonsadle) on the city side about 3 years ago, this was getting turned into a unit building
The other one that's long gone is the old Westpac bank building on Elizabeth - they even made comment about the smiley faces in the windows.
