Former Presidents George HW Bush and George W Bush have called on the US to "reject racial bigotry, anti-Semitism and hatred in all forms".
They are the latest Republican figures to weigh in on the backlash to Donald Trump's latest remarks blaming "both sides" for violent clashes in Virginia.
It culminated with a woman's death and nearly 20 wounded when a car ploughed into a crowd at the far-right rally.
On Wednesday, Mr Trump disbanded his jobs councils amid an exodus of CEOs.
Representatives from companies like Merck, Under Armour, and Intel had quit the group over Mr Trump's reaction to the events in Charlottesville.
Trump's presidency has given us some strange bedfellows
With exceptions of course.
I mean, in theory George HW Bush could run again in 2020...

Trump's qualifications in Ryan's eyes: A Pen
lol this is coming from the guy whose administration milked 9/11 hard enough to ride the waves of Islamophobia and start a war in Iraq for purely geopolitical interests. Get the fuck outta here.

bush has a complicated history with islamaphobia. personally he worked to fight it but both his party and the right wing media ignored his efforts in those regards.

That wasn't bush's fault, but rather the governor of Louisana refusing FEMA's help as offered by Bush.
Edit: reading up a bit more on it, seems it was much more of a mix of both federal and state incompetence - but not "bush hates black people"

I've never thought Kanye was particularly clever but he was extremely emotional at that point. He was absolutely right about the media's lopsided reporting of "looting". It was a matter of someone who was clearly on the verge of tears probably shouldn't have been on live TV.
Katrina was a clusterfuck but it was hardly Bush's fault.
