Carl Sagan was truly a remarkable human being, shame he had to die, I would have loved to meet him. I just finished reading his book Cosmos, amazing piece of work.

This one is my favorite.
Out of all of Sagans videos, this evokes the most awe.

I... I... I cried. If only the entire human race could be exposed to this, and understand it, contemplate on it, and then not kill eachother using miserable excuses that make no sense in hindsight.
At the same time, i feel awe but also sadness.. that no matter what I do with my life it will mean absolutely nothing in the greater scheme of things. Things to which I will never even comprehend anyway.

When you think about it, you are part of "the great scheme of things". No matter how small you are, how small a time frame you existed, what you did, who you were, where you went, you are still a part of everything that exists. In my mind, it doesn't matter what you are, you are still are. So am I. So is everything. And I find that is enough to know your place, and not feel sad about it.
It's kind of hard for me to explain, not sure if I explained it correctly. Just..The universe is full of things that are insanely tiny, and it's full of things that are incomprehensibly big. Just because something is big doesn't mean it's more important, importance is kind of irrelevant. Maybe that is a better way of explaining it? Not sure.
Carl was a genius in both Astronomy and speaking, I loved the Cosmos and watching any excerpt makes me think about and enjoy it.
