So, many of you have probably have had spicy food before, but how spicy? The heat, or spiciness of food\sauces is determined by scovilles. The higher the scoville number, the hotter the food. A jalapeño pepper contains a mere 8,000 scovilles, while something like a habanero contains somewhere around 100,000-300,000 scovilles. One of the most popular hot sauces, tobasco, only ranks up to 5,000 at most. I just ordered "Da Bomb: Final Answer" hot sauce which is at 1,500,000 scovilles and I'm going to bring it to school and watch kids try a drop or 2. And die. The hottest you can get chemically is 16 million scovilles, and you can get that in crystallized form, but that would literally murder you, so don't do that. Here's a video of the hottest hot sauce you can consume safely(sorta safe) called The Source. It is ranked at 7,100,000 scovilles. They eat a tiny tiny bit at about 3:20. I don't remember what it was called, but when I was in summer school some kids brought in some insanity sauce, everybody was trying little dime sized globs, and they said they'd give me $50 if I ate a quarter sized one (just an estimation with the sizes) I remember eating it, saying "this really isn't that ba-OH FUCK" which of course made everybody including the teacher laugh hysterically while I hauled ass to the drinking fountains without thinking before I drank water which just made it worse. I did better than some kid who threw up with like 1\8th of how much I ate, so it was pretty funny once the burning stopped. Definitely wouldn't do it again, but it still makes me laugh when I think about it, just one of those things you only do once in life

My favorite is: Not that spicy either but it taste so good. Maybe it's just me that thinks that is not very spicy because I love spicy things.
Cholula Hot Sauce is @ 3,600 scovilles.

It's a little bit strong for everything else though.
I swear by this stuff, I am been buying it for over 12 years now. I put it on everything... well almost anything, it goes good on pizza, spaghetti, burritos, and of course wings. And of course almost anything tomato based.

I love spicy food, but I can't handle a lot at all. Not to mention if you try to drink any sugary-carbonated drink or stuff like orange juice, it'll taste disgusting.
I like Frank's as well. I use it on meat only, though. I love spicy stuff, just not overly spicy stuff.

I really like it, but use other stuff if I want heat, not flavor. Tobasco and normal RedHot aren't bad at all. Neither is Cholula. Either that or I destroyed my taste buds a long time ago.

I don't use hotsauce to completely ruin the food by burning my mouth to an extent I can't taste it. This adds a nice "pinch" to your mouth while adding delicious flavor.
Handy Dandy graphs. Couldn't find one that was only hot-suaces, sorry.
Schlotzsky's hot sauce is my absolute favorite. It's very mild, but the flavor is incredible.
Habanero hot sauce is very good. After using it a good bit it stops becoming as hot, but it has great flavor. I'm not all that sure if the hot sauce is as hot as the pepper, I'd assume it to be, and it is hot, but I'd expect it to be hotter. I really like Reds too, and it really isn't that hot, but it has great flavor. I recommend mixing it with ketchup. I can generally withstand heat pretty well, the only exception being on my lips and on the very tip of my tongue. Those two spots are very sensitive to heat.
-snip-
I cook with a ton of different hot sauces. I like to put Crazy Jerry's Mustard Gas (~160000 scovilles) on sandwiches, hot dogs and hamburgers; and I like to add Vicious Viper (~240000 scovilles) to any mexican food There are some hotter ones that I use (ie. Blair's Jersey Death, 1.1m scovilles) but those generally are so spicy you can't taste the food you put it in. I might put half a teaspoon or so in a pot of beans [editline]22nd May 2011[/editline] also Coastal Cocktails has a hot sauce to go five piece kit, the hotter three are all pretty delicious on pizza
Best hotsauce in the world OP Its vry hot and delicious with hosin sauce. edit: can somoene give me the scovilles on this hotsauce? its gonna be at least 1,000
It's not THAT spicy. But it adds a great flavor to what you add it to. I put it on my dad's fried rice and it becomes an inferno of delicious. Frank's red hot is probably my second favorite hot sauce, not very hot, but it tastes great, I could almost drink it straight from the bottle.
I swear by this stuff, I am been buying it for over 12 years now. I put it on everything... well almost anything, it goes good on pizza, spaghetti, burritos, and of course wings. And of course almost anything tomato based.
I have a wings recipe where that's one of the main ingredients. You take equal parts regular (or extra hot) Frank's Red Hot and Catalina dressing and butter. So for every 16 oz. bottle of dressing or hot sauce, you put in 1 pound of butter. You melt the butter, add the dressing and sauce, bring it to a high boil and then deep fry the wings in it until they're cooked. It's a bitch to clean though, some of the butter burns and sticks to the bottom of the pot. The wings are awesome though.
I drink Frank's Red Hot from the bottle, fuck yeah.
I've never been able to handle spicy food. But I love me some tabasco.
I once bit into a habanero thinking it was a non spicy pepper. 200,000 sovilles of suprise pain. My mouth, the milk does nothing.
Imagine 1,500,000 some kids are gonna have to deal with. I'll be sure to video tape it :v:
Hot sauces remind me of this video: Mormon bitch.
