Don't know if this is allowed on here; remove it if it isn't. I have a lot of people asking how to use/programme E2; so i thought i'd help a few people out a make a basic guide on making something really simple

Thank you! :)
WOW, THIS SHIT IS REALLY ORIGINAL. I REALLY LIKE IT. YOU DEFINITELY BRING NEW STUFF TO THE TABLE.

I see a lot of videos show casing their auto gun shops. But you don't get many videos that actually show you how to make one :)

Quite a few people considering it is still the most played gamemode on Gmod
i haven't heard the term E2 in years

I do
It's quite fun once you turn everyone to your side and wreak havoc upon the city.
Expression 2 was always a lot of fun, I got really engaged into programming in my spare time because of it, you always would get really fun stuff

I'd argue that it ruined wire in general. Now instead of having people build and wire up complex contraptions, you'd just have people sitting around for hours on end not moving and not interacting with anything.
I'd have to agree with both sides. It's had its positives and negatives but i tend to enjoy them both quite equally. Being a bit of a beginner at E2 myself; if i learnt the language some more i think i'd enjoy it more than Wire

I remember when people lost their shit because wire "killed gmod", and now those same people are bitching because E2 ruined wire?
I guess the community didn't grow up?

Valid point!

E2 allows for much more complex contraptions. Although, since it was created, they have been neglecting old fashioned gates a bit too much to the point that new chips/detectors wont even work since many old gates were removed.
For example, Wire - Trigger (last I checked) outputs an array. The old array gates were removed at some point (that or the server I frequent just removed them for some stupid reason), making it impossible to actually use wire - trigger without using expression 2 to at least decompose the array as far as I know.
It's much easier to grief with e2 than anything in wire, leading most server admins to just disable E2 outright along with other random things that sound mingey. I've seen servers that disable wire - debugger on the grounds that it uses 'too much memory' when it's just displaying information that's already there.

I wish there was a way to compress my gates into a E2 chip. I enjoyed messing about with gates and setting up pretty wiring setups, but the stuff got laggy if you tried to attach it to a vehicle.
E2 was hilarious.
Using it in spacebuild was the best, I had one script that let you duplicate anyone's work by tapping the chip against it. It was hilarious to watch someone freak out as an exact duplicate of their spaceship appeared.

I had heard a couple of stories along those lines. I don't like people who neglect E2 because it takes away the fun in having that tool there. I'm currently running a server with a package that allows you to use E2 but there are strict rules in place
The most fun I've had with E2 was creating super accurate hover turrets that were 100% autonomous and would actively hunt any player whose SteamID I plugged into it.
Fun times.

Sounds quite cool; but again that sort of thing would be fun for you but not other players that were being hunted

Went out of fashion a little bit haha due to all the exploits
i'm a noob at it but ive just started and its quite fun tbh

If you are still a noob Dj then look at the rest of the videos on my channel. Got a few about E2 and a few about Wire that may help you out a little bit
I remember fucking around with E2. I made a floating speaker that followed behind a specified player and randomly made a very loud fast zombie -scream.
I also made teleport-pads that on the outside were just two plates with a button on them, but on the inside they were and inferno of garbage code. But they worked!

Lol the floating speaker one sounds brilliant! nice little troll on any server
If you guys have any improvements for the efficiency of this code then please do comment. Always looking to improve my codes and coding skills!

I've never actually gone on SpaceBuild; what do you actually do?
real men use the metal lid w/ fading door kepad!

Lol; well thats something that nearly everyone knows how to do on gmod... so i sorta just skipped that step!
