At the D23 Expo 2015, Walt Disney Animation Studios announced their next big fairy tale-based film will be called “Gigantic.”

Set in Spain during the Age of Exploration, Disney’s “Gigantic” follows adventure-seeker Jack as he discovers a world of giants hidden within the clouds. He hatches a grand plan with Inma, a 60-foot-tall, 11-year-old girl, and agrees to help her find her way home. But he doesn’t account for her super-sized personality—and who knew giants were so down to earth?
Here is the display area for it within D23:

As an employee of the parks, I am excited for the potential this movie holds.
Disney and Pixar creative some of the most awesome animation and artwork I've seen. I haven't watched any of their films post 2004 but the trailers and clips I've seen look really well done.
looks pretty cool
I'm seriously digging the art direction for the movie!
As an employee of the local Pizza Hut, I think this movie has the potential to be as good as Tangled.

...what? :v:
Seriously though, I find it funny that Disney keeps turning classic fairy tales into animated movies with adjective-named titles.
Rapunzel -> Tangled
The Snow Queen -> Frozen
Jack and the Beanstalk -> Gigantic

It most likely has to do with the fact that the last fairy tale movie with the traditional title was "The Princess and the Frog", a movie that opened the same weekend as Avatar.
Also, I think they also don't want product confusion for this film with the short film Mickey and the Beanstalk.
Will Bane memes survive when this comes out?
tangled frozen gigantic
what's with these names
I'm a shitty dirt hipster who still likes hand drawn animation but I'm always up for some Disney pixar
hopefully it doesn't go terribly off-course like Frozen did
“Gigantic” hits theaters in 2018.
man that's a gigantic amount of waiting time :v:
...what? :v:
It's because Fangz likes to let everyone know in a Disney related thread that he works in an amusement park owned by Disney

Isn't it just Disney doing the animation?

Catchy one-word names; easily memorable by it's target audience: children and tumblr land-whales.

But I'm a Disney fa and I'm neither of those, so...
I've only just gotten over the "frozen" promotion in our shop, now I have to expect this to replace it
It's because Fangz likes to let everyone know in a Disney related thread that he works in an amusement park owned by Disney
So what? He must like his job if he mentions it so much
I'm glad he's posting Disney related stuff

Ha I wasn't sure anyone else would catch it but I've seen the same thing in every thread.
I mean, if you're really THAT excited about working at the parks then go ahead. Tell everyone. Enjoy that feeling.
Why not call it Titan for goodness sake? Gigantic? How about Giant? Or Big?
Why not call it Titan for goodness sake? Gigantic? How about Giant? Or Big?
Titan sounds silly, and thematically inappropriate, sounding more along the lines of a Greek epic and not a Disney film. Giant and Big are too simple and sound incredibly lazy, laughably so. Gigantic is a less common synonym for those words, though, and it fits the "adjective for a title" motif they've been doing. It's graceful for what it is, and it's memorable.
tangled brave frozen gigantic inside out ____
it's a message
The "bean" is gigantic, right? :v:
I'm so sorry.

Sounds like lyrics for Beck song
I remember a time where they use to name these after their source like Pinocchio, Little Mermaid and Hunchback.
Oh well, still looks awesome especially the art style.

Seriously though would it have killed them if they named it something like "The Giant Beanstalk" or the original name?
Gigantic is such a forgettable and generic name.
This is like the third movie about Jack and the Beanstalk in the last few years.

It's like what Jack did in Fables, it's all real!
