[B]Deadmau5[/B] or "Dead Mouse" if you may, is a progressive electro house producer from Toronto, Canada. His name is [B]Joel Zimmerman[/B], born January 5, 1981.

He is a producer, remixer and DJ. And he's been so since 2005. He's already worked with labels such as EMI Records, Ministry of Sound and more. And he has worked with other artists such as Kaskade, Melleefresh and Billy Newton-Davis.

His debut album, Random Album Title, was released electronically in September 2008, via Ultra Records in the U.S. and Ministry of Sound in the UK and Europe. Physical copies however, came later in November 2008.

And as mentioned, he has done some work with Kaskade. In the United States, deadmau5's and Kaskade's song [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQTedx7l8wg&feature=fvst]"Move for Me"[/url], reached number one on Billboard Magazine's Hot Dance Airplay chart in its September 6, 2008 issue. This lead to his second song "The Longest Road", which got him nominated for Grammy Best Remixed Recording.

Despite the short time deadmau5 has been in the business, he has already ensured himself a couple of rivals. In December 2007, Marchus Schossow, Maor Levi and DJ Eco created a project named Deadrat6 as a joke on deadmau5. A similar faux project was also created under the name of Sinterklaa5. As a counter-move, deadmau5 created a track under the artist name "Marcus Fatsow".
