I just saw the Halo Reach "HOPE" Live action trailer. I think it deserves a film.

I seriously hope this is all a huge mistake you made here.
You are on the wrong forum here
Never ever.
if a movie came out as good as this commercial you would go see it no matter how much you say you hate halo.honestly
I just saw the trailer too. It was pretty good. I think they should have a Halo:Movie but in the style of this trailer, and the style of the trailer for Halo 3 when it has the kid in the field at night then him running towards the wraith and such. I liked the design of those trailers and I think it could be done. That way voices don't have to change and such.
They'd probably fuck it up though to be honest..
I enjoy both Halo and Half-life, I think both game franchises would make a decent movie. I would go see them at least.
Edit:
Actually if there was a halo movie it should be based on the books, I enjoy the games but sometimes they don't seem as deep as they should be, I blame that on them being primarily console games.
No.
Game movies suck ass.
gabe newell as gordon freeman
and cortana
No. Just.. no.
even so obviously this shows promise. Last few years Halo live actions commercial have owned
-an edit gone snip-
Well the trailer looked nice. That doesn't mean it deserves a to be remade into a movie. There are plenty more games that deserve a movie more than this game.
Why should it? Game movies suck. No exceptions.
Oh yeah
One name: Uwe Boll. :argh:
The butchery of Halo would be unholy :ohdear:
No. Nuff' said. :colbert:
halo likes faux-emotional ads full of bullshit nowhere near as exciting as the actual game.

Yes but
http://www.facepunch.com/forumdisplay.php?f=361
wasnt district 9 made with recycled scraps from a failed halo movie
In theory halo movie could be lots of fun and entertainment.
The problem is, when they make it the producers will only see one thing;

so it's not going to be anything amazing, just a huge crowed pleaser. ...
to that matter, after halo 1 wasn't the hole franchise made for one purpose? $$$$
Not that other gaming companies don't, but you know it's a focus more then others games.
if a movie came out as good as this commercial you would go see it no matter how much you say you hate halo.honestly
Except that would never happen. Ever.
There's halo legends. Just go watch that.
Holy fuck. The other live action trailer looked retarded, but this is amazing.
There's halo legends. Just go watch that.
except nobody in their right minds would care about a halo anime
I would pay to see any CGI film of that quality. Pretty much only reason I went to see Avatar. I really wish the WH40k movie was of that quality aswell.
Yes. It's getting a movie. It's jumped about alot. Infact, all the effects are being done by Weta workshop (King Kong, District 9), and alot of it has been done by Peter Jackson and Neill Blomkamp (District 9, King Kong, LotR, etc), but after a period of standstill it's been handed over to Stephen Spielberg. So basically, it's gone from awesome to awesome and back again.
And really, for all the hate you people give Halo, I never understand it. They're good games, and the books are nice. It's really hypocritical to not like Halo and then spout fanboyism for Firefly and Half-Life when both of those are just as generic and unrealistic as Halo. So really, get off the bandwagon for a minute for long enough to see that this could have some real potential as a film.
no
This is what the film would look like (this is by Weta, Jackson and Blomkamp):

Ive loved all of the halo shorts. Peter jackson was slated to make a Halo movie, but they thougth the fans "werent ready". So they made D9 instead. A halo movie is still coming, but only after the games are finished. If peter jackson directs, and they make them like they did the shorts.
It will be awesome.

im fairly certain the argument is about which games are more realistic
why should a retardedly-hyped franchise deserve a movie? even if it sucked, the die-hard fans, and kids will just say it's good.
