Before I start I will state that I have absolutely no music background and I have made all of these songs out of my own interest and free time. Most of it is picked up by ear or made up on a crappy keyboard at home.
This is one of the first pieces I made. Took a lot of work to get it to sound decent. One of my friends (who also has little music background) contributed to the melody in the last quarter of the song, and also the drum beat.

This one is more of a collab, me and a friend made it together randomly during the summer, sounds like it would make a good rap beat?

This my favorite, it was made very recently and I have no idea how I managed to make it this good. It went from a piano melody to one that is more techno like. I hope you enjoy, original made fully by me.

I also made a (crappy) remake of the portal 2 theme. I know you guys hate remakes but I enjoy the portal music and decided to make it since it is not yet released.

Lastly this is a full song cover/parody and music video my friends and I made of like a G6. Now I have posted it before but I thought hey, it's music that we made ourselves so it fits.

Once again please go easy on me as I have no music background. Although constructive criticism is always welcome!
Your melodies and basslines are actually rather nice. I think you need to focus on learning more about song structure, and getting better samples and sounds- it'll suddenly make your music sound a thousand times better.
I really really dislike your samples. They don't exactly flatter your music.
But damn the song in the middle is really nice (the cool tune remix awwyeahhhh). You're off to a good start and I really hope you keep at it.
Oh yeah, you should also try to learn some music theory. Trust me it won't make your music all generic and boring, it just makes everything that much more simple :buddy:
The first one sounds kinda like it came from/belongs in Resident Evil.
The second sounds like a rather funky Mystic Cave zone.
3rd has an 80s-esk sound, which is really nice. I love the 80s.
The Portal cover/remix sounds more like epic battle music from Sonic 3 or Sonic and Knuckles final boss battle.
Whatever the genre G6 is, really makes my head hurt. I got 15 seconds in but as far as that goes its pretty good. The guitar opening was superior IMO.
All of it is pretty good. I'm not gonna say for someone who has little music background, but for someone who has talent brewing somewhere in the cockles of his heart or deeper, maybe the colon.

Thanks, the first one was actually inspired by an artist named Dana Hocking, he makes a lot of music for magic videos. I cant find the actual song that gave me the the idea but it was similar, though much older.

Maybe once I'm not loaded with school work I can try to learn music theory, any books or websites to recommend for that?
